Amazing location, facing the Ocean on a green hill. People were friendly, room very clean. Good wi-fi. There is parking on site free of charge which is definitely a plus. The price was quite good and the breakfast above average with good quality products.

we stayed here at easter for a few days,a really nice place on the out-skirts of san vincente,on the edge of a national park you can walk through the green fields to the rocky coast or into the historic town.Lots of places to visit in the area and easy access to Santander airport. The posada is really good, well maintained and nothing is to much trouble for the owner, breakfast is available which is great value as is the accommodation. We will stay again

What you see in the description is what you get. The hotel is set in the middle of farmland and very close to a rocky cove which whilst we were there, never had more than 4 other people on it. The location is not for the 'faint hearted' ! the walk back from the rocky cove is up hill through fields of cows and horses and the town is about a twenty minute walk (steep hills on the way back) but to us it was all worth it, waking to the sound of cows, crashing waves and bird song. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are cleaned every day with fresh towels. The views from the rooms are breathtaking. The breakfast is simple (toast, roll, cakes, jams, coffee, tea and orange juice) well worth €4. We had free wifi in our room which was a bonus too. Hectar the owner was very helpful and always at hand to help. There is a fridge where you can purchase water, soft drinks and beer for a euro each if you do not wish to venture out. There is also a stone BBQ for guest use.
This is a beautiful area of Spain, much more lush than any other part of Spain. The town is full of excellent fish restaurants at very reasonable prices and most have menu of the day offering starter, main, desert, wine, soft drink and bread from around €10. There is horse riding just along from the hotel, canoeing a short drive away and lovely historic villages amongst the mountains.
We had lovely warm weather whilst we were there which does make a big difference.

The location is as scenic as you can immagine - in the middle of green meadows, overlooking a picturesque piece of coast and with scenic mountains in the background. No noise, just waves and tingle of cow bells. Ran by a friendly family, very comfortable rooms, free wi-fi. Very reasonable price.
A bit out of town, so best for those travelling by car, but not very far - it should be a 15-20 minutes walk to the town center.

Perched above the scenic little town of san Vicente de la Barquera, and enjoying a magnificent view of the sea, lies this lovely red guest house. The owner gave us a warm welcome and showed us to a lovely room. It was large, with an exposed stone wall and other walls in salmon pink. Excellent free wifi connection and free parking outside the front door. We had a large comfortable bed and a very good shower. The owner opened breakfast half an hour early to accommodate us as we had a long journey awaiting us the following day. Breakfast was simple but good. To top it off this place is excellent value for money!

We staued at this posada for 4 nights and found it to be comfortable and welcoming. Our room overlooked the sea and a field full of cows and their calves - wonderful and very relaxing to wake in the morning to hear calves lapping and the waves crashing. It was a lovely spot, in the heart of the country yet within easy walking distance of the village The host was friendly and helpful and happy to chill our wine in his fridge and to provide us with glasses form which to drink it! We were lucky to have beautiful weather which made the experience particulary enjoyable.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view!

A family run posada as there are many in Spain. The owners are friendly and helpful. We booked this place because it seemed to be quiet as it is out of the village and only fields seperate the house from the sea. However, we were disappointed because the doors made a terrible noise everytime someone closed or opened them - which could easily be remedied- and the insulation between rooms was that poor that we could hear the other couple talk, cough, quarrel etc...The rooms were a bit on the small side but very clean. The bathroom was efficient and clean.Breakfast is nice and good value for money.Nicely located for visits of the coastal villages. A car is necessary however as it is a 20 min walk from the village. Ample car parking.

Room Tip: Maybe a room in a corner would be less noisy ?
