Forty Springs Hotel

Great ambience. Good service. The rooms has mosquito nets. Quite useful. A calm and quite area. The service and quality of food is excellent.
A fan inside the room would have been more comfortable during summer. It was okay in most of the time but at times under the net it becomes little bit warm. Nice place to relax.

Room Tip: Check for the shower. Sometimes it is not working. Switch on the water heater as soon as you check i...

I thank Sundhar R for his appreciation of the good ambiance, food and service. I take on board his comments on the need for fans in the room during warm weather. We have stand up fans and guests should request one if needed for their room.

We stayed here a couple of times. Rooms vary in quality and functionality so check your room. By this I mean that one of our rooms had an awful shower that flooded the bathroom but another room (16) was fine. The place is pretty new so the beds are good and the sheets pretty clean. The room is basic (no tv , no Internet ), but its cheap, clean and has nets. The restaurant was o.k. , but not great. Check your bill, we were overcharged each time we ate there and had to send the bill back to be recalculated . Menu items are limited.
Beware of loss and exposed live wires in your room and elsewhere. My partner got an electrical shock the first time he turned on the water heater.
In comparison to some other places we have stayed at I would recommend this as a reasonable value.

Room Tip: Check your room out before you take it and check your bills at the restaurant.

Thank you to the reviewer for your comments. When problems occur with plumbing and electircs we rectify them immediately we notice them.
The price of drinks from our suppliers have been increasing frequently recently and thus we have to increase our prices to our customers. This sometimes leads to misunderstanding with customers as we have been slow in printing menus showing updated prices. There may also be mistakes with recording and issuing of receipts as this is manually based at the moment.
The menu is somewhat limited, deliberately, in accordance with the capacity of our kitchen. From the items on the menu not all are always available due to shortage in supply of fresh ingredients.
There is now wi-fi internet availability in all the bedrooms and throughout the compound.
Thank you for your recommendation of our hotel, despite your critique, as a place of reasonable value.

The resturant gets lots of service here. We stayed at the Paradise Lodge, but frequented 40 Springs resturant quite often.

Pros:
-Great food (Churro, Grilled fish, and fish gulash)
-Cheap beer
-Great chips (i.e. fries)

Cons:
-There are only 3-4 menu items
-Food will easily take 40-50 mins to prepare, so don't go too hungry!
-Eating outside...well...there's no lights and once it gets dark it's a bit uncomfortable. We were seated under a tree that shed LOTS of leaves so I had leaves in my food and in my drink.
-Staff speaks little to no english so attempting to request a candle or light for our table was fruitless.

Definitely somewhere to stop and eat if you have the time...

Room Tip: (we only visitied for the food, we did not lodge here)

We appreciate the comments from this reviewer. Firstly - sorry about the leaves in the food. This is a bit difficult to control. There is an inside restaurant but it is pleasant to sit outside also. As regards the poor lighting outside; it is a bit more subdued in certain parts - staff should have understood that you were requesting some extra light which could be easily arranged with a candle. We will speed up service from the kitchen and expand the options available.
Secondly: thanks for noting the pleasant environment, the good food, and good value for money for food and beer.

Standard deck-access rooms with glazed metal doors. Water seeped under door in heavy rainstorm, staff quick to try to sweep it out, but not too effective so eventually I sent them away. Clean enough, with nets and hot water. Plumbing and electrics are typically slightly quirky. Nice bar and restaurant areas. Dusty central garden doubles as car park. Noisy groups in garden until late (mostly westerners). Suburban location, but private and safe. Good value at £18 for a double. Staff try hard but do remember "TIA".

We appreciate the review which highlights the good value for money. The water was an unusual occurrence due to thunderstorm. We have now provided parking outside and will upgrade that available in the compound. We try to balance between those who want to retire earlier and those who like to socialize in the evening but in general service winds down around 10.00PM.
