Hotel is very close to the airport. Staff is friendly. Restaurant serves good food, especially fish.
Beautiful views of 2 lakes from the lodge, restaurant and some rooms.
We had hot water but the pressure in the shower was weak.
It is a very good option in the Oma Valley.

Room Tip: Ask for a double room on the left(with views)

The view is great at the lodge but the rest was just terrible. All the employees just wanted to suck every birr out of the pocket. We were promised pool at the lodge which they didn't even had. The children's playgrund were a deathtrap. No signes in the city on how to get to the lodge - when we celled them for help (as it was dark and a lot of roads were blocked) they promised to come and show the way - of course they didn't. When we booked a trip to Neschisar park we waited in the morning and after an hour when we asked about the trip, they said it was cancelled - but they didn't find the effort to inform us about it. Then we even had problems of getting the money back. When we were checking out they just brook in to our place to see how much we have used in the minibar without the courtasy of asking to enter, etc, etc, etc.
Worst lodge I've been to in Ethiopia. Food was not good and the rooms were quiet dirty. DON'T GO THERE!

I spent 3 marvelous days with my wife, son and mother-in-law in Paradise Lodge. I had been there 3 years before with my wife and loved it then. I was surprised to find out that it still seemed to be the best place in town after 3 years.
We spent a wonderful sojourn in Paradise Lodge - and indeed found out that other places (primarily Swayne's Lodge) are really going down, but Paradise is going on strong.
Firstly the location is absolutely fabulous of course (see picture), the rooms are large, clean, with a little terrace and a sense of privacy that doesn't rival Bishangari but is definitely better than many lodges and hotels.

The staff were really super friendly, relaxed and flexible. Sometimes they were too relaxed and flexible and forgot to pass on orders among themselves so that's one thing to check. We had our guided tour and a massage wrongly programmed because of that. But they are genuinely happy to help and fix things - provided you are not totally inflexible I guess.

Food is quite nice too and certainly Paradise Lodge is among the best places in Arba Minch, with a special mention for their fried fish.

For my wife's birthday we organised a lot of surprises including champagne (which we brought), a cake that needed chocolate icing done on the spot, a beautiful table etc. The waiters and cooks all played ball and assisted us beyond the extra mile. They also have beautiful ladies (dressed oddly as brides) always asking for improvements on the hotel, which is a good sign.

The next time we go there we will check if they have improved upon our suggestions. We recommended leaving a bit more time to take plates away for lunches and dinners, and also planning more shelves in the rooms as well as having baby chairs available.

All that said, my wife spent a wonderful birthday and we all had a most fabulous time enjoying the wildlife, quietness, friendliness of Arba Minch, its people and its paradise lodge.

Room Tip: There are 3 rows of rooms, directly on the cliff, one row behind and one row behind again. Choose a...

All the shortcommings since the opening of the lodge are still there; but on top of this, the rooms are more and more degrading and quit dirty. There are no glasses nor even plastic cups in the room. The tap was so dirty that I used toilet paper to touch it. The sink, floor and shower are probably never cleand properly since the opening a few years ago.
Service in the restaurant and quality of food improved slightly. They give single rooms to couples, despite double rooms were paid and booked. It's not possible to book a single room with a view; all singles are side by side, with two in a "building". The walls are only two meter high and the rest of the space, between wall and ceiling, is just stuffed; so one can hear realy every breath from the neighbours. I had a live performance from a young couple who had a lively wake-up.
It's an Ethiopian disease; they build with Chinese mess that doesn't work, or it's broken within 3 months and never repaired. Pity that there is no competition at the moment.

Room Tip: Choose for a double with a view; the panorama from the rooms, on the first row, is STUNNING!

We stayed in paradise lodge for few days. Service quality is equivalent to five star hotels in addis with the fraction of price. View is exceptional, two different lakes in both side and natural tropical rainforest few hundred meters under. Am going back.

Had really looked forward to staying here but all three of us were disappointed. it is found by going through a building site and is poorly signposted. The reception area and restaurant are very nice but the rooms only average though they were very clean with comfortable beds and mosquito nets. Lighting was particularly poor. Food and drink were expensive especially on our first night when the only option was a "so called barbecue". Some of the staff were less tahn helpful with the exception of the young people ferrying luggage who were delightful.
The room I stayed in on the first night was next to the guards shelter and they talked and laughed loudly well into the early hours which did not help my impression of the place. It is expensive for what it offers.

Room Tip: one overlooking the lake

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the lovely and comfortable Paradise Lodge, had a large tukul overlooking Lake Chamo. The larger tukuls with a view and private yard cost $15 more and are well worth it. They are also closer to the dining room, which is very helpful in the evening when it is dark. The dining room has a large terrace with beautiful views, and has WiFi. Our second night there was my birthday, and the chef insisted on making me a birthday cake of my choice. After drinking South African wine, and fresh lake tilapia for dinner, the lights were turned off on the terrace, and the entire staff came out with the light and delicious cake singing Happy Birthday. It is something I will never forget.
