“Everything about our lunch was perfect!!”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

We ate in the restaurant on a Saturday lunchtime in December. There was the 2 of us and our little girl.
From the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome and the staff were friendly and professional. Our food was excellent. I had a soup starter which was delicious followed by the halloumi stack which was very tasty. My husband had a pasta starter and chicken stroganoff which was equally delicious and the presentation of the dishes showed real attention to detail.
We were particularly impressed by the children's menu with a very good selection. The service was brilliant and the staff were really nice towards our daughter and she had a great time feeling all grown up in a restaurant!
We will definitely return and recommend to family and friends
Thank you.

We have stayed at this hotel twice with our two children 4&5 and this is the best hotel for children in the area. The room is very clean, tidy and modern. We had a family room which has a kingsize bed and our two children had there own beds rather than the usual small sofa bed plus we still have plenty of space. The breakfast is amazing and the staff was lovely and nothing was to much troble for them (Always plesant)

this hotel is well worth a visit. We have stayed there on numerous occasions and keep coming back. The food is excellent and good value for money. The staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble for them. The room was really nice and apparently they have had a recent refurb. dead handy for Liverpool and our favorite part of the world Martin Mere wetland centre.

Room Tip: We ahd a ground level room at back which was superb

We stayed in the hotel on the Saturday night and also ate in the restaurant. I stay away a great deal and consider I received excellent value in every respect. The rooms were very well appointed and spotlessly clean, the food (dinner and breakfast) was very good and, most of all. the staff were highly professional and friendly. I think I can put up with the odd bit of fluff falling off a napkin! How petty is that for a comment!!

Visited tonight and not very impressed. Was served a drink with a lipstick mark on the glass and when I pointed this out there was no apology only another drink which was the original one poured into another glass. Serviettes left a white fluff on clothing so dont wear anything dark as we left looking like we had a badcase of dandruff on our clothes Food was good but nothing to rave about but staff friendly and attentive without being intrusive. For a saturday night it was very quiet but it will be a long time before we visit again.

I am sorry you were unimpressed. I am assured by the bar tender that an apology was offered as he replaced your wine with a FRESHLY poured drink. However apologies for the glass not being spotless in the first instance. We send our napkins out to laundry & I have today spoken to the company regarding the issue you have raised, as this is by no means the norm. I am glad you found the food & service of an acceptable standard but feel disappointed that you have reservations about revisiting.

After a long week my wife and I decided to go out for dinner. After a quick look through the local paper we headed for Alexanders Bistro at The Rufford Arms Hotel as they had live music on. When we got there it was very busy but we were accommadated by very friendly young staff. The service was outstanding even though they were busy, the food was absolutley fantastic, and the home made bread to die for. Sadly we couldn't manage a desert between us but the special Halloween desert "WITH A BAT" looked spooktacular on the next table. The music was great and not too loud (and we were quite close), very enjoyable evening all round and good value for money which is a rare thing these days ! Can't wait to go back again and next time hopefully we'll somehow manage one of their array of home made deserts.

We recently stayed here as we were visiting southport for the fireworks and couldnt find anywhere to stay in southport. Very glad we found this and will definitely stay again. It took 10 mins to get into Southport. We stayed in room 3 and it was spotless. It had everything you need, tea coffee, hairdryer, soap, etc. I was a bit concerned when we arrived as the room was opposite the entrance so I thought it would be very noisy but it was ok even though they were full. We didnt eat in the restuarant but it had been busy as it was a sat nite, but we did have a drink in there without it being a problem as there were two tables at the side to sit and have a drink. Breakfast was ok and tasted very nice although I would have likes a bigger portion but then I like a breakfast ! overall excellent value, spotlessly clean and we will visit again soon.
