“Excellent Stay”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

We have just had a 3 night stay with Rod & Cath at Pebbles. The room was beautifully clean, en-suite sparkling clean & of a decent size too, & the bed was very comfy, furniture was of a lovely standard. The breakfast was more than satisfactory. It was delicious & plentiful and with a good choice. Rod & Cath were more than willing to answer any questions asked & had plenty of time for their guests.
Would definitely recommend a stay here.
The only small negative was that there is no parking at the B&B or on street. The website does state free parking but doesn't state it is not on site, which i found a little misleading, as i'd already booked thinking parking was available at the B&B. This said they do provide you with a FREE parking permit for a public car park a 5 minute walk away. This just meant we were a little anxious about the security of the car, having to check the car first thing in a morning & last thing at night as the car park lights are switched off overnight to save money.
That said all was ok.
Summary: Lovely B&B , Lovely hosts, fabulous breakfast. Parking in car park ok, but would prefer it stated on website. Slightly misleading.

Room Tip: We had room 2 which had sea views & overlooked the gardens & bowling green. Would be happy t...

Firstly we would like to thank you for your wonderful comments about ourselves and our B & B, we are so pleased that you had an "Excellent Stay" - this is exactly what we strive for. However, we are surprised about your comments on car parking. Our web-site does say "Free Parking" and it is exactly that. You can park the length of our road plus the two adjacent roads, the majority of which is unrestricted, and we give guests a free parking permit for the large municipal car park 100 yards away. We could have put your mind at rest as we have never heard of any incidents of damage to cars and park two ourselves without fear. We do hope that this would not prevent you staying with us again.

We stayed for 3 nights in August 2013 in room 1, the blue room, which has a lovely view of the gardens & sea. The room was extremely comfortable & well equipped. Pebbles is in an ideal position, being so close to the sea front & all amenities. Every day we went for an early morning walk, taking in the sea air & fabulous views, before indulging in the fantastic breakfasts. We can only echo all of the positive comments about Cath & Rod - they are incredibly hospitable & helpful. We will be back; hopefully Easter time 2014.

We stayed at Pebbles for 3 nights in August 2013, it is in a lovely spot on a side street just off the seafront, with views over a park and the sea from the front of the property. Rod and Cath are delightful, so friendly, welcoming and relaxed. The room was fantastic, large, light and airy, with lovely decor and fixtures, fittings and furniture that really fit the character. The bathroom was modern, with a nice large shower cubicle and big fluffy towels! Breakfast was fantastic, I had something different each day, all cooked to order and delicious. We loved the little touches, they make such a difference, such as the guest fridge in the dining room for your own drink, and with fresh milk for tea and coffee. Pebbles is first class, and touches like this just add to it, making you feel at home. What really makes Pebbles are Rod and Cath, so friendly and welcoming, super efficient, yet relaxed with it, nothing is too much trouble.

Room Tip: We stayed in the first floor sea view room, lovely view of the park opposite and the sea.

We haven't visited Seaton for some years but went to see friends recently and stayed at Pebbles B & B. Having stayed at Pebbles 3 years ago we rebooked as we were happy staying there on our previous visit. Pebbles remains consistent in terms of quality, the hosts Cath and Rod are very attentive and will go the extra mile to ensure all their guests have a first class experience. The rooms are very comfortable with top quality beds and facilities. Seaton has had some regeneration since we last visited and has been much improved and is worthy of a visit. I would not hesitate to recommend booking into Pebbles B & B.

We spent three nights in Room 1 at Pebbles House in August. It was beautiful and clean and Rod and Cath are the perfect hosts, genuinely warm, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were really delicious with a great choice if you didn't want the usual 'Full English Breakfast'. Seaton is a good base for touring the area with lovely beaches to visit and many interesting National Trust properties nearby for rainy days. Although it was August we had no problems parking opposite the property as there were ample parking spaces available. A very relaxing break.

The b&b itself was lovely and clean and the hosts were very friendly. We were arriving quite late after work and a long drive from London one friday, so the hosts were great in arranging late collection of keys. The cooked breakfast was very good each morning. Parking was available opposite and the hosts provide visitors with parking permits. Rod was very helpful in advising about local walks (would recommend the walk to the lovely town of Beer!), even providing an updated map due to recent cliff erosion closing old pathways. The town itself was quite dated we felt, and there wasn't so much in terms of good restaurants within walking distance, but it provided a suitable base for some top walks and some lovely restaurants could be found a short drive away - we would definitely recommend River Cottage in Axminster.
