“Dont change a single thing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2014

We stayed here as a couple for one night. Our stay room and breakfast was complimentary as part of our wedding package from last year (One nights stay on your 1 year anniversary).
We were completely 100% satisfied with our stay!

The room was great, comfortable, clean, over looking the beautiful beamish view and gardens with bottled still and sparking water, tea, coffee and hot chocolate facilities, cookies and cakes. Two glasses of OJ (which we promptly added our champagne too!!) Bathroom was modern, functional and perfectly clean.

We ate in the restaurant with out needing to book, staff were attentive and friendly. I ate the vegetarian lasagne and my husband had the local sausages and mash. Both came with side dishes however these were left untouched as the main meal portions were huge! Food was tasty, hot and there was plenty of choice. We also squeezed in a desert (chocolate dime bar cake) again this was amazing!!

We then moved into the bar were the selection of drinks was staggering, any spirit and mixer you could possibly think of and a fantastic range of ciders, lagers and wonderful real ales. The bar is super comfortable with big welcoming arm chairs and a beautiful wood fire in the centre of the room.

The Inn is set in a beautiful rural spot with fantastic gardens and a lovely little selection of animals (ducks, geese, donkeys, sheep, horses, alpacas!) We had a wonderful little stroll to stretch the legs around the gardens and farm yards in the sunshine- very peaceful and relaxing.

The staff and in particular the mangers make this place a real gem. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Nothing seemed too much trouble and they all seemed to work really hard and take pride in their work. The South Causey is a real credit to everyone working here, an absolutely wonderful place.

Nearly forgot to mention the pub dogs! A very friendly and well behaved labrador and little dachshund, sleeping contently in the reception area. Just add to the country, homely feel of the place.

A fantastic country Pub/ Restaurant/ Venue/ Inn. Would recommend 100%.

Room Tip: We stayed in an internal room and it was lovely!

This place is a real find - the staff are amazing & friendly & nothing is too much trouble. The attention to detail, quality (& quantity) of food was superb. We had gorgeous comfy beds & lovely little details & thoughtful touches in our rooms. Can't wait to go back - it really is a gem!

I have never wrote a review b4 on here but thought I would because I feel the South Causey Inn and more so the staff deserve credit !!

We decided last year to choose the South Causey Inn to be our Wedding Venue .
We set our date for the 16th of May 2014 and the help and advise we were given along the way from Susan and Katie , Clare and the other "blonde" lass was spot on.
I was stressed out for most of the time with the planning and organising but the staff at the South Causey Inn chilled me out abit , they know exactly what they are doing .
They made me and my partner feel reassured and left us feeling confident .

Come the big day , everything went smooth thanks to Clare our Wedding coordinator .
I want to say that she done a lot more for us than what shes probably supposed to do and I am very grateful for the extra help and support "cheers" :)
Our guests were impressed with all aspects of the day and evening . Food was awesome , (prawns) out of this world .
Kitchen staff and waiting staff also need a mention .
I asked for an extra surprise for my new mother in law in the form of a funny shaped dessert .
The staff joined in with the humour and we all had a good laugh together .

The hotel and grounds were in excellent condition , clean , fresh and disabled friendly .
We had guests invited who owned Motorhomes and the were kindly allowed to pitch up free of charge .
Extra thanks for that .

Our room the bridal sweet was awesome more than what we expected .

I really can't thank everyone enough at the South Causey Inn who played apart in our wedding day .

All in all this is a brilliant venue to have your wedding or even to spend a weekend break here .

Thanks very much - already looking forward to spending our 1st anniversary together at the South Causey Inn .
Cheers Dickie Drummond

Myself and my fiance have been to the South Causey on a number of occasions for evening meals and a sunday lunch. We must admit we HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD MEAL! We were that impressed on all the occasions that we have decided to use this venue to host our wedding this year. We have even taken my mother and father for a evening meal and they are very fussy. Needless to say they were very very impressed. (as shown in the pictures)

Dont hesitate to go for a meal here, if we had only been once and it was good it could of been a fluke but the fact that we have been over 5 times and the food and service has always been top class. Says to me that they have got it right!

Well done to the South Causey keep up the good work.
