Tucked away off the main road, I visited here twice last week after a recommendation from a friend. I wasn't disappointed and although I'm not a fan of burgers I opted for one after seeing one on the next table. It was very good, superbly presented with chunky chips.
I noticed there is a very reasonably priced lunch menu at £6.95 but the second time I visited I was told this was off during the summer holidays??
However, I would recommend and would certainly go back in the future.

Thank Clarenicky

this was our second visit here and it is one of the best eating places in the north east.
We had the starting platter to share as a starter but it would have done as a main meal there was such a variety and plenty
For mains we had chili this was diced beef and not your usual mince my friend had whale and chips even though it was called fish but it was so big and the best batter ever So here is to the next time

Newly decorated and a warm welcome to boot. Bar staff were very friendly and a sample of ale was available before purchase.
Good menu with reasonable prices and lots of variety, however everyone, within the premises experienced a long wait to be fed.
Food was a mixed bag on arrival, with some good and some not so.
I heard from conversation that it normally is better, so guess we hit a bad night.

Went here with our children for a family meal, childrens meals arrived about 30 minutes after ordering, our food arrived after an hour and a half of waiting. Had to ask about it twice. Only another 2 tables waiting so not even busy, no discount offered and staff didn't seem bothered. Would not recommend this place or return

To celebrate Independence Day or something like that we all went out for lunch at The Blue Bell.
I can recommend the "Elvis" burger with peanut butter and maple sauce relish and crispy battered onions with salad and a side of sweet potatoes washed down with a little "American" pale ale from the Caledonian brewery in Scotland. Good food with good friends
