Enjoyed 2 night stay at this beautiful lodge with my husband. Warm welcome on arrival - tea & scones offered. Lovely, well decorated room with large en-suite. Slept well in very comfortable bed. The good sized bedroom had lovely furnishings and plenty of storage space.
Views of the countryside from windows.
The food could not be faulted - fantastic beakfast with plenty of choice. Evening meals were such good quality - cooked to order with lots of fresh veg and superb desserts. The lovely dining room overlooks the extensive gardens and beautiful hill views. Good selection of wines available.
The lodge has a very restful atmosphere and provides a haven from busy town life. The friendly welcome we received continued throughout our stay and we felt very sad to leave!
Short walk (3 minutes) to local shops etc.
Plenty of places to visit close by - Bowes Museum is very interesting and plenty of walks available.
Puzzled by review from Mary G - did she stay at same place as me!
