“Fabulous find ”
Reviewed March 22, 2018 for a stay in March 2018

A stunning smithy conversion, lots of sociable space and privacy too with four good size bedrooms including two twins and two doubles. The friendly and hospitable owner also rents The Old Forge as a smaller size let ... simply by locking unused bedroom doors and voila - one size fits all and good value for money. Fabulous, cosy woodburner, freshly decorated rooms and lots of information about places to visit and things to see in the area. West Lutton is a well placed, pretty village with small stream running through and a lovely pub. There are great walks from the door right onto the Wold or surrounding paths. There are other good places to eat nearby and the coast is less than half an hour on quiet country roads. Definitely recommended. We had a lovely time here.

Many thanks for your feedback. The Yorkshire Wolds is a fantastic place to live, being a rural area with easy access to The Yorkshire Coast, The City of York and lots of tourist attractions. We love sharing our good fortune with our guests and are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Caroline

“Modern facilities in an old Smithy”
Reviewed August 13, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Everything you could need and set out well. Plenty of space and the games were used on the only wet-weather day we had. (This was a blessing because we visited lots of places each day, coast and moorland , Abbeys and Castles, pubs and restaurants ...a rest day was welcome) The tourist information within the Forge is excellent and helped us plan our days out with lots of options.

Many thanks for your review Darren. It really did tip it down one day during your stay, but you did the right thing staying home and having a chill out day playing board games. Hope to see you all again some time!

“Stylish and most comfortable”
Reviewed September 26, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

All were impressed with the cottage, which is fitted out to the highest standard and spacious enough for everyone. Cooking, eating and socialising for seven is never easy, here the layout provided space for all such activities. Access and provision for elderly and disabled was excellent (ramp, all rooms on one floor and walk in shower).
Location is a little off the main roads but this was compensated by quiet roads and lovely views as we headed out to other attractions.
Local pub was very welcoming though need to check when open.

“Fantastic spot in the Yorkshire Wolds”
Reviewed August 30, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

A fanatastic little base in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds.

The welcome was warm, with a basket including some locallly produced items.

The four bedrooms are spaced around a well equiped central living area giving a compact property that has everything required for a relaxing holiday.

“Brilliant inside, outside falls short.”

Fantastic property very well equipped with hi-spec furnishings throughout. Very clean and well cared for. Ideal for anyone with mobility issues as it is all on one level and has ramp to the entrance. Unfortunately the outside area is not as good. There is no paving as in the photo,it is all pebbles and the area next to the table is the car park where you park your car. The owner also parks there. This area is also used by visitors to the owner's house for parking, as this is the access drive to the owner's house. There is no gate and the area is open to the street.
