We booked the “trainers house” to celebrate my BIG birthday!! To accommodate 14 adults. Obviously when booking something for such a big occasion it is always a concern that things won’t live up to your expectations, No worries there. When we arrived Dave showed us round the house which is a maze of rooms and staircases. The bedrooms were large and a mixture of double and twins. We let everyone choose their rooms as they arrived and everyone seemed happy with what they got. My son and his partner had to have the study which is a bedsette. They said wasn’t the best sleep they had as it dipped in the middle and they had to turn round as they felt the bottom was higher than the top. This room would be much better converted into a proper bedroom or just put a proper bed in it. The house is so large everyone had enough space and it never felt overcrowded. We had fun in the pool as the weather was fantastic. The outside area is lovely overlooking the fields with roses running around behind the pool was a lovely sunny spot and the pool house doors open onto it. The kitchen is very well equipped to feed 14 people (take plenty of dishwasher tablets with you) the welcom pack including 2 bottles of wine and a welcome card was a lovely gesture. Plenty of toys and games to keep everyone occupied. The second utility room off the sitting room was brilliant as it made a fantastic bar. Bath and pool towels are provided but take your own face towels if needed. We all had a wonderful time and everyone was sad to leave would love to come back.
Had a great long weekend here. The house was fabulous- so much room and family dogs were welcome. The swimming pool proved very popular!
Stayed at the trainers house for my 60th birthday. Age ranges from 3 to 86. Huge house, loads of space for kids to run around. Mix of old and new and was just a great place to stay. Indoor private pool was the icing on the cake, kids were in at least twice a day. Would recommend to anyone.
First class house and facilities. Pool warm and fantastic. We were 8 adults 5 Grandaughters and a toddler we were all happy. Thank you we will return.
Absolutely brilliant house, full of character and you could get lost in all the rooms.all rooms are spacious and fully equipped for the larger families( 6 adults and 7 children). The kitchen is fully equipped to be able to cook with all the utensils and crockery and spacious enough accommodate around the kitchen table for all the family and more. You could easily play hide and seek and lose one of the people. Ian and Dave are always available for help and advice. There are plenty of places to visit within a few miles and there are a variety of leaflets available to choose from. The stables next store are Wonderfull for the children and the staff are very helpful and always on hand to answer questions and the horses are so cute. The icing on the cake is the 25 foot swimming pool and again fully equipped for the latter families my family were never out of the pool.A variety of games and DVDs are available and a good source of entertainment for adults and children. Would 100% recommend to family and friends and hope to visit again in the near future.
You could not be disappointed with this wonderful house. Amazing space and so warm and welcoming. Beautiful views from every window. The swimming pool is fantastic and was the icing on the Christmas cake.
A fantastic venue whether you're staying out or if you plan to tour this part of Yorkshire. Accessible with ease as it lies 3 miles of the A64. Make no mistake, this is deep Yorkshire countryside, good for walking but also for access to so many other parts including the East coast. The house has a great country feeling to it, particularly the tiled kitchen with its two large country wooden tables to eat off. The lounge area is massive where many can take advantage of the log burning fire. Bedrooms are large with good bathrooms either on suit or close by.
The swimming pool, housed in an adjacent building is an excellent addition to the facilities, our grandchildren loved it. The stable yard on site is a going concern and provides contact with the horse residents. If this is not to your liking it's perfectly ok as you don't necessarily have to come in contact with the horses if you do not wish to. All in all, this is a great Venus for for all
