My Dad and I went to the Old Lodge for a Coffee in the garden on a warm day on the bank holiday in May. Last time i went to the Old Lodge i went to the Bar, so I was very suprised and taken back to find a Woman stood behind reception asking if she could help us!! Luckily after feeling like a prat stating our business she told us to go outside and someone would bring our Coffees' to us. Her manner was proffessional and she was friendly. When we were sat outside a Waitress came and served us and was pleasant enough when my Dad made small talk with her. The Coffee was good, and there was plenty of it, in two pots, with Milk and sugar cubes with a choice of brown and white sugar.

My partner and I stayed at the lodge for one night. We booked at very short notice and the staff did everything they could to accommodate us. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We were made to feel welcome right from the off.
The Lodge is a magnificent building which is set in stunning grounds. It is tastefully decorated with amazing period features. Breakfast was amazing!! Staff were very friendly and approachable, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Location is perfect for visiting surrounding areas such as York, Scarborough and Whitby.

All in all a lovely stay in a lovely hotel. We will be returning again for sure.

Myself and partner stayed at The Old Lodge for one night. We booked at very short notice and the manager did everything she could to accommodate us. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and shown to our room which was tastefully decorated and very clean. We were immediately impressed by the relaxed atmosphere, stunning grounds and friendly staff. Little things like waking up to the birds tweeting, enjoying coffee outside in the grounds and the feeling you were at home made our stay delightful.
Breakfast was exceptional, beautiful food and excellent service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will most definitely return.

The Lodge is ideally situated in between coastal towns and the City of York, Malton town centre is also on the door step. Malton has lots of lovely places to eat, quirky little shops and plenty of surrounding villages to explore.

A beautiful old lodge, tastefully decorated in stunning grounds.

My fiancé and I stayed at the Old Lodge in Malton for 2 nights as a romantic get away in April. As soon as we pulled into the grounds, we were both amazed by the appearance of this impressive this Tudor mansion. When checking in, the staff were helpful, polite and very efficient. It was also a nice touch that we were shown to and around our room.

We stayed in room 7 (honeymoon suit) and it has to be said that this is one of the most beautiful hotel rooms that I have ever seen. All the features of the room made us feel like royalty, from the huge four poster bed and great views of the grounds to the bathroom that was bigger than most bedrooms in other hotels!

In the evening, the bar in the hotel is also equally delightful. Oak panel walls and a very traditional feel make for impressive surroundings whilst also having a nicely relaxing atmosphere.

The food in the restaurant was excellent. Both my fiancé and I had a candle lit three course meal. The service was good, the quality of food was outstanding and the price was more than reasonable.

Would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be staying again as soon as possible!

Went here for Valentine's. Lovely old manor house and very nice bedroom with fourposter with rose bud and petals and lovely views. Agree with another reviewer that the shower is tiny and I banged my elbows !
In the dining room we were given a lovely quiet private corner. That was until the electric piano was plugged in beside us. It was so loud we couldn't talk so we asked the waiter to turn it down but it appeared there wasn't a volume control ! We asked to be moved well away from it but it was still an intrusive noise. The food however was very good as were the staff and we had a very nice evening.

Room Tip: Our room was on a corner at the back so we got good views and quiet

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you liked our venue and our little touches to try to make Valentine's day just a little special for you. I do apologise for our piano being too loud for you. There is a volume control on it, and I will ensure that everyone knows how to use it!

A group of 18 booked in to The Old Lodge for a 50th birthday party and were greatly impressed. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the rooms were great and the hotel was happy that we all stayed in the bar playing music for the evening. The evening meal was very pleasant, although the breakfast was a little disorganised, and a good time was had by all. Definitely worth the money.

Room Tip: We had Room 8; worth grabbing if you can
