We visited on Saturday night. From the number of cars outside we knew the Brownlow would be full and indeed not even the smallest table was free. The bar was also full with people on the well organised waiting list for a table. As the saying goes good things come to those who wait !

We enjoyed a bottle of the very reasonably priced house Rioja, hand picked by the owners on a trip to Spain earlier this year. The wine complements perfectly the already fantastic range of South African Wines.

Despite the kitchen being extraordinarily busy, there was no extended wait once we had ordered.
I had one of the ever reliable steaks a T-bone which was done to perfection as was everything else on the plate.

My wife ventured off the menu onto the special board having the strips of Fillet steak in bernaise sauce. This was a little more expensive than the normal dishes at a little over £20, but wow !, worth every single penny, the steak absolutely melted in the mouth.

The ice cream sundae deserts were equally impressive.

Thank you Jeanette & team for a truly memorable evening, you are clearly reaping the rewards of many years building up this fantastic restaurant, well done.

We will of course be back.

If you're considering a night at the Brownlow try it, you certainly won't be disappointed but definately best to book.

I booked The Brownlow for my daughter and nephew's shared 18th birthday meal.
There were 14 of us and the all of us agreed that the welcome, service, food and atmosphere was suberb. We were allowed to take birthday cakes and balloons etc earlier in the day to ensure a surprise for the 18 year olds on their arrival.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and our requests were dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Well done The Brownlow for making our special occasion one that will be remembered for a long time. Keep up the good work. We would have no hesitation to recommend you to people who want to enjoy fantastic food in a lovely atmosphere with polite, friendly and efficient service.

The Brownlow Inn is our local Public House and the previous owners had dragged it down and we thought it was going to close, then it was taken over by Mark Taylor and his wife . What a transformation! They serve the best steaks in town, and the food is innovative and different. The décor is lovely and their staff are superb and well trained.

They are always open to criticism and will put right any problems. If you don't like what you ordered they will change it for you at no extra charge! Now where else can you get that?

They changed the menu gradually over time and now make their own desserts and the chips are not frozen - home made and seasoned!

I have dietary problems and can't eat Gluten or Dairy and they put themselves out to help me. I rarely have desserts, but if it's a special occasion the chef will make one especially for me.

I cannot recommend them enough. If you've been there a few years ago and weren't very happy then try them again - I'm sure you'll not be disappointed - a lot has changed and all for the better!

average pub grub could be a really nice place but needs some updating is looking very run down now. Used to go here regularly as they always had loads and loads of deserts on offer and food was good but changed hands and now hardly any deserts and food not to the same standard.
