“Fantastic, inside and out”
Reviewed April 13, 2018 for a stay in March 2018

The cottage itself is immaculate, tasteful, modern and bright with quality fittings and everything you need , we were delighted when we saw it.
Key positives compared to other cottages we have rented over the years are : Amazon and Netflix on tv in lounge with great WiFi , wood burning stove (and plenty logs) , binoculars to use, starter pack of bird food and feeders in garden (spent hours watching the birds from the window) , private access to woods, the Strathspey steam train line in view and unlimately the peace and quiet.
Location was fantastic, as a short walk to local shops, which are well stocked and priced, the steam railway and the boat inn for dinner. In addition, the location is perfect for accessing all the local attractions, and walks in the area and we were lucky enough to see the baby polar bear at Kincraig wildlife park which was amazing!
Overall , a lot of thought has gone into making this property a quality rental and you won’t be disappointed.

Thanks very much Vicki, and all! A very kind review! The skiing has been exceptionally good up here this winter, and it is still snowing today!! So, there will probably be some great skiing again, once it clears up a wee bit. Of course, we would be delighted to welcome you all back again any time. Kind regards

“a well-equipped and comfy retreat in an idyllic location”
Reviewed November 4, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

The cottage is tastefully furnished and well eqiuipped. It's an eco-example in terms of its efforts to mitigate any adverse environmental impact.

The location is quiet and picturesque, affording access to many outdoor activities.

“Perfect highland home”
Reviewed October 22, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We visited as a family of four and had an amazing holiday. The house is beautifully located with fantastic views and stunning wild garden. We were lucky to see red squirrels and numerous birds at the feeding tables. Inside, the house is decorated with so many lovely Scottish touches and is fantastically equipped. Nice touch to have some local treats left for our arrival. The house has many walks at its doorstep including the speyside way. The local area has lots to do for all ages. Our hosts were very attentive. Would highly reccommend a stay here.

Thanks Craig. Kind feedback much appreciated and great that you enjoyed the cottage. Pleased the squirrels made an appearance for you! They are quite pushy around the nuts at this time of year - I guess loading up for hibernation! Obviously, you're all welcome back any time. All the best.

“Amazing cottage with attention to detail”
Reviewed October 16, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We stayed in this newly renovated cottage 0.5 miles from the centre of Boat of Garten for a long weekend in October. We absolutely love the Cairngorms area and have spent many happy holidays here over the last 18 years with our three children, staying in quite a few different cottages, but this is easily our favourite.

The cottage has been beautifully decorated and the owners have truly thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The cottage interior is perfectly laid out and very warm and comfortable, with a lovely wood-burning stove. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and modern and there is plenty of hanging space in the bedrooms. Opening up the curtains every morning and seeing the stunning views of the mountain landscape from the large windows was a particular highlight, as was the lovely balcony where we were able to sit out at night and watch the stars! Importantly, the wifi signal is excellent, which, along with the smart TV, kept our three teenagers very happy after a day of cycling/walking :) Although we didn't have time to enjoy the wild garden, it is completely fenced and would be a perfect place for younger children to explore and play safely.

The cottage is in a fabulous location. It is very private but is also only a short walk along a very quiet road to the centre of Boat of Garten, where there are two well-stocked shops (great for fresh bread and croissants every morning!) and it is possible to catch the steam train to Aviemore., There are many walks and cycle routes accessible directly from the cottage, including a lovely off-road route to Aviemore (about 5 miles) that follows the steam railway line, but it is also a great base to travel and visit the surrounding area. We would particularly recommend Rothiemurchus, Loch Morlich/Glenmore, the mountain funicular and Landmark.

Communication with the owners was great, both before and during our stay.

Overall, we absolutely loved this cottage and really didn't want to leave - we will definitely be returning. I would highly recommend this cottage for both families and couples.

Thanks Deb. Very generous review much appreciated. As our first guests, although we hoped we were close to making a stay at the cottage a good experience, it is obviously great that you enjoyed it so much. Of course, you are more than welcome back any time. Kind regards, Derek
