Description: WelcomeWhether you've something to celebrate, are at the end of a hard day's walking in the hills, or simply fancy a break from cooking at home, it is our wish at Anderson's that you all feel welcome. Forget pretence, the atmosphere here is relaxed and informal, so sit back, switch off, and savour the pleasure of great food and drink. Local Produce At Anderson's we are committed to using local Scottish produce when it is in season, so needless to say, our menu changes each month, along with our daily specials. Each dish is lovingly prepared and bought together in such a way as to bring out the very best of truly great, fresh ingredients. Although our menu is creative, our aim is simple, to present you with food that we are confident you will enjoy, and that tastes fantastic.Family Friendly The whole family is welcome at Anderson's, and it is important to us that everyone can tuck into something they will enjoy. So for children we can either offer half portions of anything on the menu, or for specific likes or dislikes, please feel comfortable to say, and the chef will be happy to come up with something to suit- within reason! Similarly please make us aware of any special dietary requirements you may have.“It’s great to see a restaurant like Andersons opening up in Boat of Garten. Owners Steve and Claire have put a huge amount of thought and effort into their set up, and their intended philosophy of utilizing the best of Scottish produce should be a real boost to the local restaurant scene. I wish them every success for the future.” Nick Nairn

We decided to try Andersons for lunch after my husband had read the reviews. Friendly helpful staff. Good service. We had 2 young kids with us and they were made to feel welcome. Set menu for lunch with several choices. Food was fantastic. Black pudding fritters were really good, my husband had the chicken livers and he said they were lovely. I had venison sausages which were really nice too. The lemon dessert was gorgeous along with a scoop of lavender and lemon curd ice cream!! They had liquorice, white chocolate and beet root, white peach and vanilla, rum and raisin and several other flavours. With the set menus lunch you got a beer, wine or soft drink and the rose wine was the best I have ever tasted in any restaurant. Shame we aren't here for longer as we would definitely go back for dinner. Will return sometime in the future if we are back in Aviemore!!

Popped in for lunch recently. Place quite quiet. Menu on blackboard.
Limited choice. Opted for the roast beef and fish for my wife.
Food okay but not the best we have had.
Service good as usual.
It was in between Xmas and New Year so perhaps the staff were frazzled.

We rounded off our annual New Year week in the highlands with our first visit to Anderson's, and it certainly won't be our last! The menu contained many enticing options, both for starter and main course. The baked goats cheese starter was delicious and the mains of the duck and the fish pie were excellent, accompanied by a great range of red wines to choose from. The service throughout the evening was first class and with a happy, bubbling atmosphere it is definitely a place to try, just a short drive from Aviemore.

Dined here after our hotel closed it's restaurant for the night
Reserved a table a bit earlier than normal but could see why when we arrived busy with a steady turnover of folk so the open kitchen was never overrun
Limited 2 or 3 course menu as it was just after new year but an excellent selection none the less
We had 3 courses for £18 which was truly excellent value, wine list was good, usual restaurant price plus a week kept real ale
All the dishes we tried were very tasty and nicely presented by the extremely polite, attentive and friendly young staff who are a credit to the establishment
Would love to see what the standard menu looks like, it's no wonder the place is popular so do book !

We were directed here by the management of The Old Ministers B&B and not surprisingly this restaurant was exactly as described. A limited but adequate menu with a 'specials' blackboard comprised of modern offerings and the UK stand by of Fish & Chips expertly prepared. we enjoyed our meal and loved the hand made ice cream desert. Good meal, good value with good service.
