Having read other Tripadvisor reviews we chose this pub for lunch en route from Plymouth to Barnstaple. What a gorgeous old building with a thatched roof in a pretty location. We both had the lambs liver, bacon and onion gravy with a lovely selection of vegetables and it was absolutely delicious. Well cooked, piping hot and beautifully presented on square plates. There was an extensive food menu and for dessert we chose sticky toffee pudding and Bakewell tart with oodles of delicious custard. The local ale, served from a barrel rather than a hand pump was excellent too. Altogether it was a memorable lunch stop and I would heartily recommend the Duke of York.
