Having briefly visited Seil island before, we were keen to stay longer, so booked into Garragh Mhor for a couple of nights on our way to the Outer Hebrides. Ellenabeich is a charming village on an enchanting little island and if you are looking for a relaxing change to the touristy hubbub of Oban - look no further.
Our chosen base was Gharragh Mhor and, again, if you are looking for a fantastic B&B - I would suggest that you need look no further. The house is well-appointed with lovely rooms and the owners, Trish and Steve, are most hospitable and friendly. When staying here we felt more like house guests than paying customers, and that is testament to the warm welcome you receive.
A rather important aspect of a B&B stay is the breakfast and I can report that the one served here is top class. Not only were the portions generous, but the ingredients used were top quality. After making our choice from fresh fruits, juices, yoghurt, cereals etc, I had a full Scottish breakfast which comprised of; proper butcher's sausage, thick-cut bacon, Stornoway black pudding, fresh tomato, tattie scone, mushrooms, fried egg and beans. The breakfast was perfectly cooked and delicious - as was my wife's smoked salmon ad scrambled egg.
This was our first stay at Garragh Mhor but I am pretty sure that we will return often.
