This is a B and B you must not miss! The location is just wonderful and Jim and Ina are hosts par excellence. The rooms are very comfortable, the scenery breathtaking and Ina's cooking is wonderful. You simply could not hope for a more genial, relaxing, accommodating and attentive service. Once word gets around you might well miss out on a treat! If your car is very heavily loaded watch out for the track up to the cottage as there are some outcropping stones and loose rocks.

Inverstrae B & B acted as a base for a group of archeologists and MacGregor clansfolk investigating their past history in the glen of their origins.

In addition to accommodation we provided lunches and dinners for variable numbers as the dig progressed and had on occasion to provide overspill accommodation.

We are gratified that our services and flexibility contributed towards the success of this latest element of the ongoing MacGregor historical research project

This is one of the best b & b's we have ever stayed at. The situation is stunning as is the hospitality. Jim and Ina made us feel so welcome and Ina's cooking is superb. As well as breakfast we had evening meals and packed lunches all of which were delicious. They kindly delayed an evening meal for us until we got back from our boat trip and nothing was too much trouble. If you are heading anywhere near Oban then this is the place to stay. We hope our return is sooner rather than later.

It is always a pleasure to receive a plaudit for the services we provide our guests and this review is especially welcomed..

It is our constant aim to help our guests have a memorable and high quality experience at Inverstrae B & B. Flexibility is an important element to us and we were able to adjust a mealtime to allow these visitors to return from a day sea trip of a lifetime to Fingals Cave, Iona and Lunga near to Mull. In doing this our guests were able to cap a splendid day with a relaxing dinner.

Our guests experience of this day trip shows yet again how well positioned Inverstrae B & B is as a base from which to radiate out from on day trips by sea or land. There are many places of interest within a comfortable day trip distance and we are happy to help our guests plan their Highlands experience.

We had an absolutely delightful time with Jim and Ina. From the moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed. We enjoyed our conversations with them for many hours -- over tea, dinner, and breakfast. Of our 11 day tour of the Highlands, this was the place at which we felt most at home, as we were so warmly welcomed by them. We can recommend the 3-course dinner that Ina prepares. It is located in a wonderful setting. On our walk that started just outside their door, we saw numerous red deer, birds, and other wildlife. We highly, highly recommend staying at this B&B.

It is a pleasure to receive this commendation of our efforts to make our guests experience at Inverstrae a totally memorable one.
The locality in which Inverstrae nestles is a magnificent spectacle in all directions and it is our aim to ensure the comfort, service and homeliness provided here measures up to the external environment in the glen.
For guests who choose to have dinner at Inverstrae, by prior arrangement, a culinary delight awaits them with imaginative menus created by their hostess Ina. Where possible dinner is a family meal which encourages social interaction between guests and owners, frequently resulting in enhanced knowledge of the area and its history.

Jim and Ina are great hosts. Aside from its great location (on the way to the ferry at Oban from Glasgow airport), you won't find any nicer people. Jim knows the surroundings as only a native could -- and he is very helpful in making things happen. For example, I (a landscape photographer) wanted a particular scene of the Kilchurn Castle and, as I was catching my breath, Jim had made a call to the owner of the land I would be on. Zip. We were there. Little extras like that make this a great B and B.

It is a pleasure to receive this review from a much travelled couple who started their visit to Scotland at Inverstrae B&B after an overnight transatlantic flight to Glasgow.
At Inverstrae B & B our philosophy is simple. We just do what it takes to give our guests a memorable stay in our enchanting surroundings. Getting access to a favoured photo opportunity for these guests was an example of our efforts in this respect and the resulting pictures act as a permanent reminder for our guests of their visit to Inverstrae B&B and Argyll.
Our guests choice of location emphasises the convenience of Inverstrae B&B as a first stop choice for travellers arriving at the international airports of Glasgow and Edinburgh

This B&B is situated superbly:
You can instantly have great walks from out of it and spot wildlife like deer and birds of prey, walk along the river or scamble to some hill-top or mountain-top. The couple that runs 'Inverstrae' is really great, friendly, helping, interested and makes you feel as if you are family of their own.
PS Jim, have a happy birthday today ! and love to you both !
