“WELCOME RETURN”
Reviewed May 27, 2012

Just returned from our second visit to this wonderful haven of peace, hospitality and excellent food. This time we decided to go for a long weekend, using my husband's birthday as an excuse. We received a wonderful welcome and a homemade birthday cake which was gorgeous. Following Jim's advice we had a great weekend out and about enjoying the area and its treasures, not to mention the wildlife. We returned home relaxed and refreshed with that feeling that one usually gets following a much longer break. Many thanks to Jim and Ina. Not forgetting Jack who kept us entertained.

It was a pleasure to welcome these returning guests from Wales and to make their celebration weekend memorable for all the right reasons.
Their commendation is very much appreciated.
We are happy to report that an earlier suggestion regarding sprinkler heads for hair washing has now been completed in all bathrooms with the installation of mixer taps on the baths with shower head attachments

Our guests complimented us on our facilities and hospitality at departure with nice words about our food in the visitors book. Our basic philosophy at Inverstrae is that homeliness is encouraged by the food eaten round our table. To receive praise in both reviews and visitors book for the culinary pleasures enjoyed here is so so satisfying for us and gives confidence to potential visitors when planning their visit in this remote part of beautiful Argyll.

We had a delightful stay at this B&B nestled on the grounds of a large Highlands farming and hunting estate. Our hosts Ina and Jim were extremely welcoming and the food absolutely great, served in generous, tasty helpings. Our room window gave out onto the green hilly expanses of the Highlands, providing us with breathtaking views without even having to get out of bed. A true sense of hospitality and service are the trademark of the owners, who even organised a last minute, surprise bag pipe concert by a local talent, Jade.
A wonderful to stay and use as a base if one is planning to explore the area hiking or motoring.

We were delighted to provide a base for our guests to sample the delights of the Highlands in their first visit to Scotland.
The comments generally and those regarding the bagpipe recital are particularly welcomed and reflect our aim in providing unique services. In this case the bagpiping was performed by Jade Brown a 15 y/o friend and member of the famous Inveraray & District Youth Pipe Band.
We appreciate the reasoning in the review assessments which are related to the presence in the house of our little cocker spaniel Jack who receives constant adulation from all our Guests.

Inverstrae is a real gem in the highlands. The hospitality and friendliness of the owners, Ina and Jim are second to none. Inverstrae is a bungalow located amongst the most beautiful scenery of the highlands. Situated down a small road and then accessed over a field track, the peace is wonderful and ensures a good nights rest. The accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped. Although not en-suite the bathrooms are normal domestic size and situated right opposite the bedroom door, so there is no problem. Again they are well equipped with lovely towels and plenty of toiletries. At the time of writing there are no showers, but there is plenty of hot water for bathing.
Ina is an excellent cook and the food is absolutely lovely. Homemade biscuits in the rooms, great slices of fresh cake and tea served in china cups and saucers, homemade bread for toast. We had an evening meal which was very very good. I don't hesitate to recommend Ina, Jim, Jack (the dog), and this wonderful B&B to anyone. We look forward to a return visit one day.
