“Highland Heritage Coach Tour from Coleraine Nortjern Ireland”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2012

This hotel was very good value, our room was large and very warm as was the bathroom with good hot water. The staff were first class in all departments and friendly, the meals were excellent with a good choice for all tastes. We were there at the end of October and the colour of the trees and surrounding mountains was great with a small dusting of snow. The. Daily coach tours were excellent but with one small moan about one hour to long. The drivers and coaches were five Star.

Room Tip: There is a very bad signal for mobile phones

Our Holiday at the Dalmally Hotel was fantastic! We never expected to experience so much in such a short time and for such a small cost. The Hotel was very clean, the rooms were large and had an en suite bathroom. They were supplied with bath robes, all toiletries, fresh fruit, tea/coffee facilities with biscuits, tissues, etc. The breakfast was good with a choice of cerials, cooked items, and plenty of toast and marmalade. Dinner was three courses with three choices for each course. Everything was served piping hot.

The trips were very good and we did take advantage of the optional tour because we had been advised to do so because of the remoteness of the hotel. The buses were clean and modern and our bus driver, John, was excellent, keeping us informed and entertained for the whole journey and on the tours..

There were no telephones in the rooms and mobile phone reception was poor (we found this a good thing because we were not being constantly pestered by phone calls). However, there was a bell in Reception which could be rung at any time when there was no one on duty in the case of an emergency and a member of staff would respond.

The flowers and gardens were good too and we would like to see them earlier in the year.

All in all, a very pleasant experience and bearing in my what we paid for it we could not fault it...

Room Tip: Just enjoy what you get because no one spends a lot of time in their room. There is sometimes nois...

A very pleasant hotel, rooms clean, food good and staff very friendly and helpfull. Only downside was that some of the evening entertainment could have been better.

The autumn colours and views are breathtaking.

Yes, we did have to use handgel around the hotel and coach, but then better safe than sorry......

Hyland Heritage - thank you. Your coach driver John is an asset to you, He made the long trip enjoyable with his knowledge and humour. Thank you John.

See you next year.

Room Tip: room 45 gets a lot of overhead noise

A pleasant hotel situated for coach party tours. Good food and service. Large well heated rooms and well organised tours, by Highland Heritage. Evening entertainment is also included. Ideal for a short break of around 5 or 6 days.

Room Tip: I was offered a Premium upgrade as other travellers were which is a deal worth having so look out fo...

We were well on the way to Scotland before we were advised there was a risk of a virus in the hotel. On the coach we were asked to use sanitising hand sprays before embarking and leaving. We were also asked to have our hands sprayed before we ate meals in the dining room. The trip was good value for money, entertainment was fair and the hotel was average.

On our journey home we stopped at a restaurant in Otterburn and five passengers were vomiting. The coach made an unscheduled stop beside Newcastle Airport to allow people to leave who were too sick to travel to the city centre. The driver was calling into his headquarters informing them of the events so the company must wa aware of what was happening. We had to be dropped off after our scheduled stop as at that point my wife was ill and she was violently sick over the grass verge and has been ill for the last six days. I was ill for a day and am still suffering the side effects.

We checked the reviews on the hotel's website and there were many people who complained about the virus and being ill but these have now been removed and only favourable reviews remain. People were stating on the website that as there was no telephone in the room or mobile signal when they were ill they couldn't contact anybody.

We are of reasonably good health but there were people on the bus older and more infirm than us and I am surprised that no-one was hospitalised.

My wife and I have recently had a superb time in Bonnie Scotland with this excellent company, we went on the Best Of Scotland tour, (b.o.s) from pick up point to drop off, our trip ran smooth, safe, and efficently, the weather was also very kind to us and that was a big plus, but I dont expect it would have taken away the beauty, magnificent lochs, glens, mountains, and the autumn tree colouring was amazing
We stayed at the Dalmally Hotel, our room was clean, quiet, warm, and the beds comfortable, a good nights sleep was not a problem, the food at meal time was very tasty, and hot, and we were waited on like toffs.
We did not use the bar or function room very much, but during our stay never heard anyone complain, we did however here a of a few unhappy people, their comment was (they expected more from their tour) mabe they paid more than other people? no! the tour rates are the same for everyone, I suggest they try another tour company, add up the cost and then ask! why did they fuss, value for money, Highland Heritage Ltd is the way to go.
See you all next Autumn, and thank you all.

My wife and I had been on a tour of Ireland earlier in the year with another coach tour company - we mentioned to some fellow tourists that our next tour would be to the Scottish Highlands and they recommended that we check out Highland Heritage and what they had to offer. We went online and found that a tour was coming up from our area at the end of October and, as we felt that the price was so reasonable, we decided to give it a whirl. All I can say is that we were not disappointed in any area of the tour on offer - the coach arrived at the pick-up point exactly to time, our driver Phil was very welcoming and entertaining on our journey northwards, on arrival at the Dalmally we found Alex to be a superb host and his staff were both obliging and professional throughout our stay, our relief driver Margot to the same high standard, the Dalmally itself was comfortable and well appointed, the quality of the food in a mass catering situation was excellent, the daily tours were well planned and informative, all in all - full marks all round!!
If their is any criticism to be made it is that with the knowledge that mobile phone signals are at the very best extremely poor or non-existent then the lack of telephones in the bedrooms does present a health & safety issue in the case of medical emergencies - especially when the majority of tourists are senior citizens.
