“Ask for the coach house or rooms to the left of the hotel”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

The hotel is slightly dated, but otherwise OK and very good in places, my boss was recommended the hotel and was pleased that the rate was negoiated down to £65 per night due to number of guests and this was honoured even when one person from the company visited that week visited instead of 6 or 7. We (as a company) visited from May 2012 to July 31st 2012.

We found the hotel improved from our first visits in May and that the food inparticular improved.

On the positive sides the Staff are friendly and the beds are very comfortable - some of the rooms are more basic but very functional.

The Spa and gym which is free to use by hotel guests is fantastic and I can not recommend highly enough visiting this part of the hotel. Beauty treatments (such as a massage) can be booked but are chargable although are well worth the money.

Room Tip: Where possible aim for the coach house, had room 59 and 60 or rooms to the left of the hotel as you...

We booked this hotel as it was near to a wedding venue that we where going to.On arrival no one at the check in so went to the bar and was greeted by the cook! Booked a family room for us and a separate room for mum and pleased to get adjoining rooms for the children as they had their own single beds not a put up sofa as in some hotels. The room was clean and comfortable but in need of updating .We visited the restaurant that evening and we all had nice meals and good service, after spending all day sat at a wedding and ready for a good nights sleep we returned to the hotel to find drunken wedding guests sitting outside the venue drinking and smoking and struggled to get near the stairs to our room! Luckily our 5 & 6 year old were so tired they went straight to sleep but we had to listen to the cheesy wedding disco into the early hours. The next morning at 9am the toilets in the lobby still hadn't been cleaned and were littered with ripped tights, empty booze bottles and toilet paper all on the floor.

Room Tip: Try somewhere else!

We stayed at this hotel 5th Aug for four nights with our sons 7yrs & 4yrs. We booked it on the Internet 31st May and paid £ 80 per rm per nite. It is not value for money !!!
We have been driving for 6hrs, so was very tired. Got to our room to find a guest was already in the room. 20min later we were given another room & had to wait around for the extra bed.
The room have no air condition ,it is hot during the night.
The SPA area is nice and clean.

We booked into The Best Western Diplomat on Laterooms for a quiet Bank Holiday break. After all, the hotel prides itself on 'peace and quite in Llanelli' right? Wrong ! Saturday night we were kept awake til 2-30am by a loud wedding party and the following night til midnight by Amateur Singing Night. This is less a hotel and more of a noisy busy pub that happens to take overnight guests. On the plus side the rooms were clean and good sized. Dinner in the restaurant was OK. The apricot tart dessert was nice but I wasnt sure about the tastefully placed garnish of Tartare sauce !

Room Tip: If you aren't there for a wedding and want a quite night. Look elsewhere.

We stayed here whist visiting friends in Llanelli. I was disappointed when we arrived as we were placed in an annex called the Coach House. However, on Saturday evening when the main hotel was heaving from a wedding reception the Coach House was a quiet haven! The room was modern, large in size with tea & coffee, and ironing board. Our ground floor room had French doors which were welcome in the hot weather. My only criticism would be that the bathroom needs to be modernised. We were given a code for the Wi-Fi when we arrived but this didn’t work after 24 hours. Breakfast was a mixture of continental and hot buffet.

Room Tip: For a quiet room ask to stay in the Coach House

There is nothing I could fault with this hotel, everything is lovely. I had my wedding here on August 4th and it was perfect. The staff are so helpful and work very hard! They do anything they can to help you, nothing is too much work! Byron the owner is always around for anything you may want. the food was lovely, everyone enjoyed it and a few people even had a second dinner haha. The rooms are really nice and the beds very comfortable. I didn't use the spa or pool myself but some of my family did and they said it was good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed! Thanks to all the staff for everything you done for us. You helped us in making our wedding day perfect!

Went to the restaurant on a Sunday . The sign at the door says that two courses were £9.95 as it was there on a Sunday i presumed that was the price, underneath in small writing was that this was Monday to Friday !

The service was impersonal and the staff while not rude were obviously not trained in customer care apart from one staff member . We had to seek out drinks after our starters arrived as we were not offered.

The pate was a tiny slither with a piece of white toasted bread that was damp from the pate and salad . Very poor.

The main meal was a carvery , we were not offered Yorkshire puddings and we didn't see one smile apart from as stated one waitress with blond hair who came to talk to our grandson. She will know who she is.

The veg was over cooked and lacked presentation . The gravy was thin and tasteless.

This delight cost us £80.00 for four adults with one drink each.

Needless to say we will not be returning .
