“Christmas farce!!!!!!”
Reviewed January 29, 2013 via mobile

Just as other comments state awful day, a lousy christmas tree and no christmas decorations not even crackers. Food was fresh out of the microwave. Unfortunatly we had paid in advance but did make my views clear on the day although I felt they were ignored and just passed by. Total let down will never return. Seems all the landlord wants is our hard earned pennies as the food and service was totally not up to standard

“Glorified sunday lunch.....”
Reviewed January 10, 2013 via mobile

We spent our xmas day in the Halfmoon and were so dissapointed, you would never of said it was xmas no crackers or xmas tablecloths? No xmas songs or atmosphere? We have been previously for sun lunch which is lovely so were really looking forward to spending our xmas day there, but were so let down.. For £40 pp we expected a wonderful day. Not a mince pie in sight did order coffee's but when we were leaving still no sign?? Will be dining at home from now on at a quarter of the price!!! Dont recommend to anyone, REAL dissapointment to the end of our day!!!!

“"xmas disappointment"”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

Having had such a fantastic christmas day lunch the previous year, my family and myself were looking forward to another wonderful day, but were bitterly disappointed. We arrived to music that resembled a scene from Magaluf! It was so loud, my mum had a migraine! Where was the christmas carols? Walking into the restaraunt we noticed there was no christmas crackers on the table, a tree that had no decorations! As for the food, soup delicious, dinner average, nothing amazing, cheese cake.... think it was bought from iceland! We didn't bother with the coffee, just couldn't wait to leave! Expected more for £35!!! Plus point, the service was really good.Tip for landlord, please stop people smoking outside,as it's not very welcoming!

“Lunchtime Treat!”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

Been meaning to try the food here for a while after reading the good reviews. Got the chance yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Good menu and prices - I chose a Beef and Mushroom pie from the specials board while my wife went for the Ham - both were excellent. The Pie had plenty of large tender chunks of beef and a delicious red wine gravy whilst the ham was the thickest sliced serving I've seen in a restaurant (More like Gammon) - tasted lovely too. Pleasantly decorated inside and friendly service. Will definately be back.
