Although I had read good reviews about this hotel before going, I was still pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The rooms were lovely with a terrace. The views from the pool and the garden bar, of the Sardinian mountains, were stunning. The restaurant was good enough to eat both nights we were there, though the first night was very busy so the service was a bit chaotic, especially in the bar. The pasta dishes were excellent. Breakfast however was a bit disappointing.
There are plenty things to do in and around Tempio, though a car is probably essential.

Agree with previous reviewers that a car is essential if you stay here - not too far into Tempio but very unsafe as have to walk in road! Hotel was very clean, mosts days had clean towels, new soap & shampoo. Staff very friendly and helpful - especially after having our car broken into at Capo Testa and having our day rucksacks stolen and made a couple of phone calls for us (we had previouslyreported incident to police. Hint - make sure you do not let anyone see you put bags in back of car before leaving it!!!). Their help certainly made things easier for us at a time of stress and I'm sure at many other places we would not have not got such help. 3 course meal in hotel in evg at 18 Euros very reasonable and food was good the first night we tried it. Unfortunately we didn't know what evg menu was when we went out for day in the morning so ended up eating out before returning to hotel.
Flight & hotel was booked thru Easyjet - the first time I had used them and was impressed with ease of booking and no problems.

We took off to Sardinia to escape the dreadful English Summer - when we got there we had taken it with us!

We carefully researched this hotel and it seemed to offer us everything, location. peace, good food, clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff. We got all of those .....

You really need a car here ... Pausania is walkable but everything else needs transport. Its in a lovely spot amongst the hills

Pausania itself is a lovely little Sardinian town which really isn't touristy. It's a real working town which is great to just wander around, nice places to eat and friendly locals.

We particularly recommend the Trattoria Galeurese, full of local Sardinians at Sunday lunchtime - always a good sign. The food is really good ,the staff helpful despite speaking little English and the portions a decent size.

Hotel staff were without fault, the rooms spotless and the food better than average for a hotel.

(Breakfasts were the usual cold buffet but more than adequate.)

We usually avoid the hotel restaurants but it was wet - we chose to cut our losses and eat in some evenings. We weren't disappointed - try the set menu for around 18 Euros each with a bottle of house red which was very reasonably priced and more than acceptable. We were even given bunches of grapes from the hotel vineyard each meal time.

Restaurant staff were lovely, always cheerful and the owner is always around to ensure you are happy with things. Give her some feedback on her staff - its really appreciated.

For those moggy lovers - there is a hotel cat - he's usually around and is very friendly but for those who don't appreciate the local feline - he's not allowed in the restaurant!

An hour away is the ferry to Corsica - we recommend taking a day to sail over to Bonafaccio - well worth the time. And a complete changeover from Italian to French culture all within a couple of hours!

Things brightened up at the end of our week and we were able to spend a day around the pool - what a setting for a pool and we had it to ourselves for most of the day.

All in all we would certainly recommend a stay here and we would go back with no hesitation.

We arrived at the Pausania, in the midst of a 300 people wedding reception, but we were welcomed by the friendly reception staff and shown to our spacious room, it had everything we needed, and was very clean and with outside space, we didnt expect that, we were also surprised to find a well maintainded tennis court, if only we had known, we would have taken rackets.
The breakfast was sufficient, although l would have preferred more fresh fruit etc, but the evening meals were excellent and fairly reasonable at 18 euros a head for 3 courses, we ate in every night as it was so good.
The owners, an american lady and her italian husband were very friendly and went out of their way to help, especially when we couldnt fathom out the Sky TV, all in all, the whole experiance was relaxing and very pleasant.
The only draw back is that you would definately need a hire car, as its even a fairly long walk into the very pretty town of Tempio, and if you did walk, at night it would be quite dangerous on unlit roads with no pavements, and fairly scary bends. Not many of the staff spoke english but it was quite nice to attempt the language and by the time we got back l was quite confident in spoken ltalian.
lt was a lovely holiday......

Although 10 years old this hotel seems brand new. It is very well presented and cared for. We paid for a double room with an extra bed but we got a family room with a lovely terrace with mountain views. This hotel is not for everyone as it is inland Sardinia, but if you hire a car it is in a good location to discover the North , North West and North East coasts. It is also near some interesting rock landscapes. The pool area is lovely well kept and clean with a great view of the mountains. We stayed B&B and the breakfast had plenty of choice. They also serve pool snacks. In the evening they have a restaurant which serves good food and it has a meal plan offer (3 course Euro18). Definately a good value choice.

We had just one night at this hotel but wished we could have stayed longer. The room was very comfortable, the views were beautiful and the service was excellent.

The pool was lovely, and we had it to ourselves most of the time.
The room only cost 154 euros for a family of four - which we thought was incredibly good value for money.

We will definitely stay there again.

Great hotel. Rooms are spacious, especially if you get a balcony room. Big pool, good restaurant. Slightly too far out of town though, walking along the steep twisty road (no pavements) dodging the kamikaze local drivers, especially at night, is not for everyone! If you dont mind driving the mile or so, it's fine.
