I stayed in la cerra for a total of 7 days. The reception was great and Alberto managed to make u feel at home after just having entered the house. The hospitality which Alberto showed and demonstrated towards his guests was just great.
The dinners were quite good however a bit more variation would have been great as he served similar things each day.
The room was clean when u arrived but after 5 or 6 days in the same room it starts to get a bit filthy as there is nobody who comes into your room to clean it… this is really a down side.
The breakfasts are usually my favourite meal of the day, I often found myself not eating much as the breakfast was basically a bit of bread with marmalade or nutella. There weren't any cereals for breakfast either… the food is supposed to be organic and none of the breakfast food was organic.
breakfast could be much improved…
Overall it was a nice and pleasant place to spend some time.

Stayed here for a week in september. The location of the farmhouse was fantastic amidst beautiful scenery. Well situated for exploring the coast & mountains. The room was large & very clean.Alberto our host was very welcoming & very helpful. The food each evening was a real highlight of our stay, a taste of Sardinia you could not experience locally for the price. We met some lovely people from all over the world.Only downside was getting out of Olbia when we arrived, the signs were terrible & we got very lost. Highly recommend this farmhouse & would love to return one day!

We visited La Cerra for 6 days, arriving just as the weather turned into summer. We stayed in the apartment next to the farmhouse, and were welcomed warmly by Alberto, his 3 cats and 2 dogs. This agriturismo is in a most beautiful setting, and it is so peaceful, you leave all city life behind you. The restaurant serves local Sardinian fare, the local wine is most drinkable, and you can meet your fellow guests over dinner and share a tale of the day's exploits. Who needs the Costa Smeralda when you can have this for a fraction of the cost?

Stayed there actually for two weeks as precedent reviewers wished to do so. Agriturismo La Cerra is a large estate (75ha) very well located at the foothill of a small mountaineous ridge twelve kilometers north of Tempio Pausania - the district's small urban center. It compromises other than the farmhouse itself a guesthouse (5 cozy apartments) and a small trattoria house which opens only unregularly. Bovine and goat breeding are the remaining farm activities. As we didn't try out the restaurant I cannot comment about the quality and origin of the food served there. Except concerning breakfast compromised in the B&B formula: It was invariably dull and uninspired. The proprietor is intransigent about his 'poverreto' breakfast: No fresh nor organic food. None of it comes from the farm's vast ground. Even the sacred heart of italian colazione culture is bleeding there as the espresso tastes like the one at the roadhouse...
Thanks to the magnificent scenery surrounding La Cerra there is an upside. One can enjoy an almost unspoiled landscape from a deckchair on the guesthouse's terrace... supposing the dogs will let you! You better leave the hermitage early in the morning (skip breakfast) and get started for touring the region, La Gallura. It boasts spectacular scenery and one of the last unharmed coastal strips of Sardinia. The owner is always happy to give you endless travel advice.
At the bottom-line La Cerra could effectively be the prioly mentioned 'hidden gem' if there was a less improvised management, more privacy, real certified organic food, fresh investments in furniture, heating and equipment. Not to mention better behaved dogs!

We stayed at La Cerra for two nights, and we wished we stayed for two weeks (actually two other couples staying there were doing exactly this - two week stay). The farm is strategically located right at the middle of Northern Sardinia. To get to interesting places on the east - Sassari, Alghero, Neptune caves, Bosa, or on the west - Costa Smeralda, Palau, Maddalena archipelago, Santa Teresa (and onto Corsica) - is all within 1 hour drive, and wonderful beaches of the Northern Sardinia are just 20 min away.

Everything was right on the far. It is not exactly a bed-and-breakfast, it is rather an agriturismo, i.e., a working farm with accommodations and restaurant. The hospitality of Alberto, the owner, makes you feel immediately at home. The farm is located right at the Monte Pulciano mountain, there is a lot of hiking that can be done without driving anywhere. Alberto leads hiking trip to the top of the mountain. He offers advise on places to visit, maps, restaurants, etc. It does not make sense to have dinners somewhere outside: the quality of the homemade food at the farm’s restaurant is outstanding! The meats, the cheeses, fresh ricotta with honey, the Gallurese soup….- all was so wonderful and fresh, you would not find it in any restaurant. Add to it homemade wine, made by the chef of the restaurant in his winery, and the ambiance of the restaurant where guests sit in groups and share their travel stories, and it all becomes unforgettable and charming experience. And the price is unbeatable: when we stayed, the half-board (i.e., breakfast and dinner, and wine included) was $140 per night for the couple. Compare it to fully artificial Costa Smeralda with hotel rooms at above a thousand dollars a day.

Highly recommended to everybody who wants a combination of relaxing vacation with sightseeing of beautiful Sardinia
