“Treetops is a home away from Home”

Treetops is not a holiday let it is a home away from home. The attention to detail is amazing, everything you could possibly need is there. We loved it. Five minutes to the centre of Saltburn, a lovely Victorian sea side town, interesting shops, cafes and restaurants. Five minutes to the beach, and straight into the beautiful Valley Woods. Can't wait to visit again,

“Lovely homely accommodation, with great views, and close to amenities”

We booked for February half-term, as a family of five, with our pet Labrador.

We had not visited Saltburn before, but found it to be a charming, friendly, and well preserved Victorian seaside town. The accommodation was easy to locate and key collection from a nearby hotel was quick and painless, You can park outside to unload, then we parked our car across the road - it was never a problem finding a space.

We found the accommodation very clean, and extremely well equipped throughout. Lots of storage, so everything could remain tidy. TV with Amazon fire stick and DVD provided for entertainment, as well as TV's in each bedroom. There was plenty of bedding and towels provided, including tea towels in the kitchen.

The house is an 'upside down' arrangement, with the lounge/kitchen/diner at street level, then stairs down to the two en-suite bedrooms. Although the house is an open plan arrangement, which we prefer, we were never cold; the house was warm on arrival, there is an easily operated thermostat to control the temperature, and there is a nice electric fire in the lounge as well (it was quite cold the week we stayed, so we needed it).

There are sea views from the lounge, but not from all windows as the adjacent trees prevent this, although when not in leaf, you do also get views down to the beck below. From the front, the outlook is across the road to some nice Victorian architecture, and up into the town centre. There is outside seating with a view adjacent to the lounge (a little too cold for us to sit unfortunately), and there is also a roof terrace, which provides more outdoor seating as well as stunning views across the bay - this would be lovely for a summer barbecue.

The location is perfect for us, without compromise. A sea view, which we always try to find, and plenty of options once outside your door, with some great dog walking options. There is a lovely clifftop walk which I tended to do as a morning dog walk, then cut back through town (30-40 mins). You are a 5 minute walk from the beach and pier down the hill, and a 2 minute walk from the entrance to Saltburn Valley Gardens which are nice to stroll through and stop for a cuppa or let the kids play, eventually ending up at the beach. Or you are 2 minutes from the town centre, with a nice selection of shops and restaurants (we can recommend Alessis, if you like Italian), and there is a small Sainsburys in the town centre (5 mins walk), from which we fetched fresh bread every morning.

You could happily have a week here without your car - as well as all amenities on your doorstep, there is a bus stop outside the property, and a train station in town, 5 minutes away. If you do fancy seeing something different, Whitby is a 30/40 minute drive down the coast, and Sandsend (just north of Whitby) is a fantastic place to walk your dog. Guisborough is a nice market town, not far away, with the imposing Roseberry Topping nearby. The Yorkshire moors and dales are a stones throw away.

There are a few small niggles here and there, for example we couldn't get the water hot enough for a bath, and there are a few cracked floor tiles here and there (movement of the house presumably). But none of this detracts from this being a deluxe property, to which your kids and dog is welcome, in a fantastic location in the lovely, friendly seaside resort of Saltburn. We would highly recommend it, sad to leave it, and already planning our next visit.

What a superb place, very clean , comfortable and roomy. Superb location with everything just on the doorstep, lots of great places to eat and drink and lovely countryside to explore. We had our dogs with us and it was great for them with miles of sandy beaches and country walks, and always with a nice dog friendly pub for lunch at the end. We will be back soon.
