A lovely friendly hotel with pleasant views. Nice bar and restaurant. The rooms tastefully furnished and warm. Modern tv and bathroom. The chair too big to get in front of the desk but everything else was brilliant.

Thank you, we're really pleased you enjoyed you stay and very pleased that you were happy with your room. We will hunt down the rogue chair and make sure it is suitably swapped (Thanks for the tip).

Best wishes and hope to see you again,

Cathy Kelly

We didn't stay overnight here on our visit to Saltburn however we have eaten here a couple of times. The Sunday lunch is great value and the food is delicious- plus the views from the conservatory really top off the meal. Staff have always been very welcoming and helpful. A great place to eat after a walk along the beach!

Thanks and we're pleased you enjoyed your Sunday dinner.

Our own kids always ask us to come to work on a Sunday just for the dinner...and it's always great to be cooked for (and spared the washing up!) I've never had a bad one here and I'm fussy when it comes to a good Sunday dinner so thanks for taking the time to review us...

Best wishes,

Cathy Kelly

Didn't stay in the hotel, popped in for Sunday lunch after a walk along the beach.
Can't fault the food, was very tasty carvery.
Service was very friendly but not overbearing.
Sat in conservatory with a spectacular view of coast. Will definitely be back, lunch for 2 adults and a child with drinks for less than 25 notes its a bargain!!

Thanks for reviewing our Sunday Carvery-it's good of you to take the time. Sunday is always a busy day at The Spa and a great way to pass the afternoon before or after a walk on the beach.

We've got some very cute kids colouring pads now and lots of plans for the kitchen over the summer. The Spa's Thursday Grill night has just started too...Pop in if you're passing by (the King Prawns look lovely!)

Best wishes,

Cathy Kelly

we had our wedding at the above venue on 25.01.13. The venue was perfect, the staff were so accomodating and could not do more for us. We have had so many compliment since about the food at the hotel and alot of family members are looking forward to going back there for a sunday carvery. (Neither us nor our guests had eaten here before and can guarentee it will not be the last time.) Having visited The spa hotel once back in 2005, can definately say that the new owners and their recent renovations have made use of the great deal of potentional that this hotel holds. It has amazing views from the conservatory, the function room is a brilliant size and the accomodation was just heaven. Cannot thank the staff enough for all of their time and effort that was put into making our day just perfect. would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a night away, some decent food or just a quick drink after a walk on the pier.

What a wonderful review and a day that we will remember for the years to come. Such a happy wedding to be involved in and such lovely people. It was a true team effort and your ideas were so creative and really made the day....Organising your wedding was such a delight.Think we may found one of the greatest room decorators through you too!

You will always be very, very welcome and thanks for the review,

If the Rose Garden is full, the Spa provides a reasonable back up. The staff were very helpfull and the hotel had everthing that I needed; although when I visited the wifi was only available in the bar area. Decent sized rooms, good breakfast and commanding views over the bay; slight problem if you have gone for a run because it means you have to stagger back up the hill at the end!

Thanks for taking the time to review us. We love the Rose Garden too-a really pretty B and B.
You would be surprised how gentle a walk up from the sea it feels when you're doing it every day! Good way to walk off the fish and chips too...

I had some business in Middlesborough and also have family near Saltburn so looked for a hotel that suited both requirements. I also lived for a period in Saltburn as a kid and looked forward to strolling around the town.
I must admit that when I work away, all my expenses are covered and I would normally have stayed in a larger chain hotel.

The location at the top of Saltburn Bank gives great views of the sea and cliffs but the main thing that impressed was the warm welcome from Ann(e) and her staff. The room was freshly decorated, warm and homely. The hotel is a treasure trove of curiosities: for example there is a pleasant little reading room, well stocked with a wide variety of books and wIth good free wifi access. Extensive decorating is ongoing, though this is not an intrusion.

The food is excellent: well cooked and homely, my brother and sis in law joined me one evening and commented on the quality of the food. I think they will be using the Spa now! Well done Chef!

In conclusion, though I am not personally paying, I consider the value is excellent, both for room and food. I am working a further six days in Cleveland in Jan and Feb and will be staying at the Spa again for this. A great alternative to a faceless 4 * chain hotel which would be my normal accommodation when on business.

Would I use the Spa if I were paying out of my own pocket? Most definitely!

I have stayed in hotels costing twice the price and more that do not compare in welcome, room and food etc.
The building and furnishings are a joy in themselves: another reviewer said 'shabby chic' not derogatory: just the opposite: charming. The right blend of old and new. I must stress that 'shabby' does not apply to the bedroom: just the opposite.

In conclusion: The Spa: the owners, staff and the building itself are full of personality.
I rarely write reviews on hotels that I use on business: a recommendation in itself that I felt moved to review the Spa.

Thank you very much for your review and for taking the time to post it. It really helps us to read that we're heading in the right direction and gives all the staff a lift to know that their efforts are recognised!

Saltburn is a lovely place to visit and our mission is to bring this hotel back up to the standard that it should be, in such a pretty area.

We look forward to seeing you again in the near future and thanks again.
