We stayed at Venn Farm in the Red Barn in June 2014 for four nights and can't recommend it highly enough. The location is truly beautiful and the barn itself is impeccably stylish whilst feeling homely and comfortable at the same time. There are some breathtaking runs and walks, great restaurants and lovely beaches all just a short drive away, but we also loved just relaxing in the barn and lying in the sunshine in the pretty gardens. We traveled as a couple but would like to return with our families next time as it would be the perfect location for children to play and explore.

We stayed in the Red Barn for a week in July with our 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter. The stylish yet comfortable barn had everything we needed to make our stay very relaxing. The open plan area on the top floor meant that the children were very safe and they both enjoyed exploring the toy box. Highlights of the accommodation were the chickens, trampoline and huge garden where 'daddy and son' played a lot of football. Every morning, our son raced out to the chicken coop to check for eggs and was so delighted when he found them, daddy then enjoyed eating them! There is plenty for the adults too, we enjoyed a glass or two of wine on the lovely decking area overlooking the garden and made use of the great up to date dvd collection at the barn. The host Karen was lovely and very helpful in recommending things to do. We borrowed her boy's surf suit for our son which he enjoyed trying out at the beaches, Our favourite beaches were Northcott Mouth and Sandymouth. Highly recommend this barn to anyone, the quality and style of the place is impeccable.

Just returned from a long weekend staying in the cob at Venn farm. The accommodation is excellent, great open plan space, great decor and plenty of outdoor space. We travelled with a 3.5 yr old plus twin 8 year old boys the bunk beds were perfect and plenty of toys / DVD / wetsuits / boards if required. There is use of a large trampoline and football pitch which we all enjoyed plus the friendliest chickens I'd ever met. For the adults the space is perfect for casual dining / BBQ with a wireless sound system if required. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfy more like a hotel with fine linens than a self catering holiday let. Overall it was perfect if you have kids, so much outdoor space. If you don't have kids it's great too just so nice to stay in such a nice house. The owners are around if you need them and were so good considering my son broke a lamp and we left our trunki which was posted back to us! If we're allowed we will certainly look to return ;-) you need a car to get around we travelled a little further to widemouth to enjoy the beach as it had more sand for the kids.

Room Tip: N/A all rooms are good not sure if adults are allowed in the bunks the top is quite high also if you...

We stayed in the red Barn in early June with our nearly 2 year old. The accommodation is top notch - stylish and comfortable. Really thoughtful touches like fresh flowers in all the rooms, bacon, milk and eggs on arrival as well as our grocery order all packed away meant we were on holiday from the first moment. Our little girl loved the huge lawn, friendly roaming chickens, collecting eggs from the hen house in the morning and a children's den hidden in the woods. It's a short drive to great beaches. We hope to return.

We stayed at the coB with our nearly two year old daughter for Christmas 2013. It was absolutely perfect. The house is finished to an extremely high standard - fantastic kitchen, living room, lovely bathrooms, and bedrooms. All very clean and well cared for and toddler friendly. Conrad and Karen were very welcoming hosts - readily available to help or give advice when needed, but never invading your space. The house is truly spectacular - everything I would have in my own dream house. The care and attention to detail was great - the Christmas tree was set up and decorated for us when we arrived, some goodies for our daughter, and really thoughtful touches like Christmas cookie cutters tucked away in the cupboards so we could bake.

The weather the week we were there was pretty dreadful, heavy rain and wind almost every day (not that we were expected much different in December), but that didn't bother us in the least. The spaces inside and out were fantastic and my daughter was fully entertained with all the open spaces inside the house and the gardens outside. Karen and Conrad offered plenty of tips on places to visit, and a fantastic map of the area so we could venture out. They go the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect for their guests. For example, I sent Conrad a message as we were heading out late one morning that I couldn't get the DVD player to work, before we make it back to the house that afternoon the problem was solved with a new DVD player - to be honest if he could not have resolved the issue, it would have been fine, especially given it was just a day before Christmas, but we were impressed at how hard they work to make sure everything is perfect for their guests.

The whole property is perfect for kids and very toddler friendly (a relief after hearing some nightmare stories from friends who had rented other properties with toddlers). Stair gates and cot were provided as well as a few toys - the whole set up is just right for kids who want to roam around and explore inside and out. The kitchen set up with a big open space was perfect for when my husband and I were cooking and preparing meals as my daughter had plenty of space to play right there with us.

Overall, we had a blissfully relaxing week at the coB and I cannot wait to visit again!

Room Tip: All the rooms here are great - the kids room with the built in bunk beds would no doubt be a big hit...

We spent a week at the Red Barn with our children and had a really wonderful time. We felt completely relaxed and loved the huge garden with secret trails and a hidden hut in the woods.

Conrad and Karen were incredibly welcoming and really looked after us. We've stayed in some beautiful places in Cornwall but Venn Farm has to be the best! We can't wait to visit again.
