If you're going here for a long, relaxing, pampered holiday, think again.
We spent two nights in a 2 bedroom lodge which sleeps 6, so plenty of room for just two people on a quick getaway. The bedrooms were pleasant, with comfortable beds, large TV's and plenty of storage space. The bathroom was brilliant, with a large stand in shower and separate bath which was very well cleaned and maintained. The kitchen was well equipped , with all white goods and amenities you would need for a long stay.
On our second morning there, we received a number of phone calls very early in the morning, which every time we got up to answer the line cut off. We were meant to be there on a relaxing holiday, were we could wake up when we want, not with telephone calls.
The facilities were nice such has the indoor pool and squash courts, there was a hair salon on site but wasn't open whilst we were there.
We stayed across St George's day meaning there was only a limited menu across the restaurant. I ordered the carvery and proceeded to chose my food. There was 3 choices of meat which looked like they have been sat there all day, I opted for the turkey which was very dry, bland and fatty. There were no choices of normal vegetables such as carrots, peas and broccoli. No mash just roast potatoes, suede and creamy leeks which was covered in a hard skin, not appetising at all.The gravy was so watered down it was so hard to even identify that it even was gravy. My partner had the steak pie, which was edible however when asking for some extra sauce and gravy, the waitress looked at us as if we asked her to draw blood from a stone. It took an age for our drinks to arrive, and when they did the beer was flat and the glasses were grubby.

We did our best to eat as much as we could, but eventually we left most of our meals, and got up to pay which was a considerably amount of money for what we were served. We returned to the lodge hungry and unsatisfied so we decided to find a local pub in the next village. Reading through other reviews, there seem to be a number of issues regarding the restaurant, many of them from a while back. A few of them it seems the management have responded saying they will sort out the issues internally, but nothing seems to have been done.
All in all the stay was pleasant, and if we decided to return, self catering would be the only option.

We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed every bit of it.The staff is ery friendly and we had an extremely comfortable stay over here. The country club is very clean and cosy.Ours was a 1bedroom apartment which had all amenities of high standard.
We strolled through the resort and found many peacocks and peahens around.
Its quite serene and simply the best place to stay.I will definitely visit this place again and again.

We booked a last minute deal for just one night but will hopefully be going back asap initially we were given a two bedroom very large cottage but as there were only two of us we asked to be moved reception were fantastic and so polite i felt a bit cheeky requesting a move when we,d got such a bargain but they were happy to escort us to a lovely 1 bedroom apartment with it,s own balcony closely situated to the leisure facilities everywhere is spotlessly clean big thick soft white towels tasteful furnishings a well equipped kitchen and really comfy bed we decided against eating in the hotel as reviews are generally negative instead we made use of the kitchen and ate on the balcony we wandered over to the entertainment which was a bit on the quiet side would probably be more lively later in the season although it was still enjoyable the pool is great sadly the spa pool wasn,t working we,ll have to wait until next time for that one highly recommend this resort for quiet relaxing break.

Just returned from 3night break, when the weather was wet and cold, but the accommodation was so comfortable that we really didn't mind cutting our sightseeing short to return to the resort. We were in a one bedroom apartment, which was spacious, well furnished with a small kitchen and even a balcony overlooking the river. It is not a hotel, so there is no daily housekeeping service, but this didn't bother us on our short stay. We used the pool, which did get very busy at times, but we were lucky to go at a quieter time, so we were able to find a free shower and changing cubicle when we needed them. The resort is constructed on a very steep hill and our daughter and family were in a 2bedroom lodge at the top, which we visited frequently as it was large enough for us all to spend time in without feeling overcrowded. Over the course of our 3days we climbed up and down many, many steps! But I loved the resort. Providing you are fit and able it is a really pretty location with great views from the top. The only bad experience was our visit to the resort restaurant, where the food and service were very poor, which is a pity as the Country Club is quite isolated and a good on site restaurant would be well patronised, but we definitely would never return. However, overall our visit was a really enjoyable one.

This place has it all. Great accommodations, great pool and fitness center, great woods to walk, great location. The only drawback is the door height. If you are tall, truly "mind your head". The service was impeccable. Our room had a lovely balcony under the thatched roof. It is also very near to the Dartmoor Park, which has great hiking and ancient sightseeing possibilities. I definitely plan to return!

We went to stay at this hotel/ apartment block for 4 days over Easter. We got a great deal with booking.com and stayed in a one bedroom apartment. The accommodation was clean and tidy and fully functional. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was very warm. The pool was warm, clean and quiet most of the time and the staff couldn't have been more helpful throughout. We didn't eat in the restaurant as we were self-catering so I can't comment on the food there, but we would definitely come again.
