First, all the positives. The service was excellent - friendly and efficient, our meal was very good indeed and the under cover, outdoor ambience, beautiful & relaxing. An interesting note is that they also had a children's menu - unusual for a restaurant of this quality. There is plenty of parking space.
The Mediterranean/Italian menu is extensive. The complementary creamy, mixed cheese with pesto, and crispy flat bread was excellent. We then had the Grilled Calamari with Chilli sauce and the Aubergine cheese bake for starters followed by a Rack of Lamb with roast potatoes and Tiger Prawns with a Peri Peri sauce and Pesto Rice. Both came with vegetables. The medium rare lamb was absolutely outstanding and the Tiger Prawns more than filling. These were followed by desserts - a rather creamy, but delicious Tiramisu and a lovely Affogato with Amaretto. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal. The wine list was good if fairly expensive.
Just a couple of 'negatives'. The location is rather out of the way if you don't know the area well. Tucked away at the far end of the Coral Bay 'strip' it is partially hidden behind the Frog & Toad pub and from the outside it is less than inspiring. Equally the name 'FRESH' is a little off-putting- it sounds more like a fruit and veg market than what it actually is, a classy restaurant!
However, DON'T let any of this put you off. Once inside (or outside in the delightful garden) everything changes and it's well worth a visit. We shall be returning, quite possibly with our grandchildren next week.
