Alpha Panareti's Royal Coral Bay Resort
Ranked #6 of 12 Specialty Lodging in Peyia

Panaretti coral bay. There was ants in our room. Reception offered choice of 2 other rooms but they were much smaller. We asked to stay in first room and they sent maintenance man with a spray which solved the problem. We arrived around 8.30pm tired and hungry. Went to the hotel mini market to find very little in the shop. No bread or milk or anything other than crisps for food not great for self catering. Whenever anything ran out in the shop it wasn't replaced or topped up and that goes for the bar also. Forced to eat breakfast in hotel in morning as we were starving and there is nowhere else nearby. Fed most of it to local cats as it was disgusting. It is 15 min walk to nearest bus to paphos on a bad broken road with very little pavement. Also pitch black at night. No good for anyone who has difficulty walking. Advise hiring a car. Nearest shop 45 minute walk and its closed on a Sunday. After getting to a supermarket and stocking up on food we discovered our cooker was blowing the electrics in our room so couldn't cook in the room. It was looked at but it was still tripping everything 3 days later. Cooker was then swapped with one from another room. Just as bad as the first one, it also had to be changed. Eventually we got one that worked.
The hotel was very quiet only another few couples staying. No entertainment except for Xmas eve and new years eve and it was the same singer who packed up early to get home to his kids.
Linen was changed but rooms never cleaned, floors were filthy.
Staff couldn't be bothered to do anything and there was no eye contact if you complained.
The maintenance man was also the chef so not surprised the food was terrible.
The pool area looked nice but indoor pool wasn't heated. There is a small gym and a sauna which was fine and internet wasn't free. Pretty poor considering there is nothing to do unless you go into paphos. Even then only 5% of bars and restaurants were open. Either closed for holidays or gone out of business. The place was like a ghost town. Even less to do in coral bay. Streets were a mess with rubbish everywhere and roadworks all over the place. Pathos has gone right down hill, it used to be a great place. Don't think I will be returning there in the future. Aiya napa I have been told is much better. I haven't been there for 20years so cannot confirm that.

Room Tip: Room 113 on ground floor is the biggest. No Sun on the balcony as its at the back surrounded by 12ft...

What a waste of money. We booked one week all inclusie over the new year. I have nothing good to say about this hellhole. Location - inthe middle of nowhere - a mile to the nearest bus stop and 2 miles into Coral bay bars and restaurants. Manager pathetic - did nor=t want to accept any responsibility and hid in his office most of the time. Staff overworked and totally demoralised. Outside areas never cleaned and corridors stayed dirty for days. The breakfasts were basic ; lunch was a snack menu where most of the items were not available and dinner was poor standard food and very little variety. When food trays were emptied food was not replaced -if you were not in early for dinner you were left with scraps. Also ran out of red wine and vodka for all inclusive guest on two nights. Public areas cold and unwelcoming. We could not wait to get home. This place made Fawlty Towers look like The Ritz. Basic cheap entertainment on 2 nights.

"satellite TV"- only 4 channels (MTV, BBC news, 1 Russian, 1 French)
Dining - the chef was about 1 hour LATE for lunch several times!!!! so, no lunch when he was not there!
Quality of food - no variety, very poor breakfasts
Housekeeping - they don't clean the room, only sometimes change towels and bed sheets (which are stained and grey anyway). Moreover, the cleaner threw my clothes on the floor and left it there!
Toiletries - a piece of soap, that's all
Sound isolation - very bad
Attitude - very rude (e.g. ''you had a clean bed sheet, so if you made it dirty, it is your problem")
Swimming pool - good for little kids, but not for adults
Beach nearby - rocky and dirty
Location - TOO far away from everything, the nearest shop/ restaurant - 2-3 km away

We booked We booked a self catering studio for our stay in November. Studio was an en suit room partitioned from another apartment with an extra addition of a hob. There was a door inside to actual apartment which was blocked with the table kept in front. No privacy at all, as you can hear everything even the whispers from both sides apartments. You can hear pouring tea or water, walking and TV so wasn’t able to sleep. Very dark bathroom with one light, no extractor or window Nothing was available and we have to ask for everything (Dinner Sets, Cookware, Cutlery Sets and Kitchenware). They expect you to bring everything even soap and washing up liquid. When we complained, we were shown another apartments which were all the same. Room was full of mosquitoes and they know about it but we were asked to buy spray from their shop as they don’t take any responsibility. No wifi in the room and only available in lobby area. No satellite TV as advertised and the TV has only one movie channel which runs 24/7 rejected horror movies. There was a safe in the room but you have to pay if you want to use it. Everything you ask, they want you to pay for it. Cleaner only collect rubbish. I was told that towel and sheets will be changed after 4 days but we have to ask cleaner for it who gave us a favor and changed the sheets and towel. Staffs are really rude, they have one handy man who does everything and not really approachable because of his behaviour. No privacy in apartments and really uncomfortable.

We stayed at the panareti coral bay hotel early December.. I can't honestly fault the staff, however the hotel was freezing due to the low temperatures.. The heating was not working in the hotel, we only had heating in our bedroom. The hotel must be a fabulous place in summertime, but avoid it during the winter......

I m a medical doctor from South Africa and in accordance with our Visa requirements in South Africa we require a letter from the hotel with the necessary hotels letterhead confirming our booking at this hotel for the period of your stay.
We normally book into Hilton Resorts and are accustomed to high standards. We booked online through Expedia.com and proceeded to contact the hotel to ask them for the necessary paperwork. What we encountered was a very obstructive booking agent namely a Mrs Claudia Bacanu who blatantly refused to help us with the necessary paperwork ( which was basically just a piece of paper confirming our stay which was already paid for and confirmed).
I proceeded to contact Expedia.com myself and their agent sent an email to Mrs Bacanu who asked her to provide me with the necessary paper work for my Visa. Once again we were met with objections and difficulty with her. I m sorry to say my husband and I who is a high profile plastic surgeon in Cyprus will never return to this hotel or use this hotel group (larcohotel group). I have never been treated so unprofessionally and with such little respect. If Mrs Bacanu had just tried to be helpful this would have been completely avoided. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Although the receptionist Lana and Eid tried their utmost best to assist us, Mrs Bacanu flatly refused.
On my return to South Africa I will write to every travel magazine and international complaints forum about this problem.
Avoid avoid avoid!

Following on from the last review, we too were worried about what we were about to find after reading the reviews.
The resort is beautifully set around a lovely swimming pool. Wehad a lovely view of the resort pool and the sea beyond. We had booked through the Interval International exchange scheme and requested a 2 bedroom appartment. Having stayed in many resorts across the world, it would certainly rate as 3* not 4*. The rooms were spacious but the bathroom and balcony were too small to accommodate the number a 2 bedroom would hold. Luckily it was enough for our small party. The furniture does need updating but instant improvements can be easilymade such as brightening the rooms by changing the soft furnishings (modern curtains, cushions and bedspreads), changing the pictures and installing better appliances. Strangely there were 2 kitchens. Some redesigning to remove one kitchen and create another bathroom would improve the 2 bedroom layout.
A welcome pack (water, milk, tea and coffee sachets) would also have been welcome as we arrived very late and had we not brought along tea, coffee and bought provisions on the way, we wouldn't have been able to get anything.
The resort was immculately cleaned, the rooms were cleaned daily, which was a surprise as this is not a hotel. In most self-catering accommodations we have stayed in, this is not the norm. Sheets and towels were changed mid-week, a normal practice, but towels here could be changed more often by just putting them in the bath.
Unlike most reviews, we found the staff very helpful and pleasant. On arrival, we couldn't switch the fridge on. The desk assistant ar rived within 5 minutes to sort it out. All members of staff were friendly, happy, chatty but did seem to have a lot to do. They could do with more staff as they seemed rushed off their feet.
We ate in the restaurant on 3 occasions, breakfast which was not exceptional but well cooked and plentiful. We also dined twice, buffet style meals, the Greek evening food was very tasty and as good as if not better than mezze we had elsewhere. The second time, the food was a mixture of all types of cuisine but it kept the hungry men happy.
A car is needed but nowhere is very far and a within a couple of kilometres radius there are plenty of restaurants and facilities.
All in all I can't begin to understand what anyone is complaining about as we had a very enjoyable stay and a great holiday
