Myself and my husband went here for a week at the end of June, we booked direct with Monarch Holidays. I understand that The owner also owns some apartment called Rhea that you can book direct with her.
We arrived at about 2pm , our room was not quite ready for us so we went to the Taverna across the road and had a much welcome cold beer. Our room was ready about 15 mins later so no problem at all. We had a studio on the ground floor, it was spotless and very well furnished. We had a double bed, lots and lots of hanging space and lots of hangers provided too. The bathroom was modern, a very small shower which had hot water constantly when we needed it.
There was a TV but, no English channels, not a problem for us at all. The kitchen was very well appointed, my only wish would have been for a toaster. There was a balcony outside, as we faced sideways there was not much privacy, as people were walking past to the pool area.
Next time I would request an upstairs room for that reason. Cleaned everyday to a very high standard, clean towels provided constantly. There is also a small area of books for you to swop, so no need to take lots with you.
The swimming pool was fab, comfortable sun loungers, never crowded, plenty of shade. There is not a bar but I think this is an advantage as it keeps the area free from visitors from other apartments, which means there are always sun loungers available for the guests. Most of the time there were only a couple of people there, so it was like having your own private pool.
There are a few very good tavernas very close to the apartments and a supermarket across the road. We just had breakfast on the balcony and ate out for all other meals. Prices were very reasonable. We paid €40 for air on, well worth it. Didn't bother with Wi-fi as lots of restaurants offered free Wi-fi so checked emails then.
We hired a quad bike for 3days, good fun. It cost €30 euro a day, had one of the newer ones as they have a reverse gear.
We spent a few hours by the pool at Angels, very friendly family and it appeared to have a lot of repeat guests staying there. We saw the rooms and they were ok.
Our apartments were just off the main road, it could be quite busy to walk along to town and no pavements so not ideal for everyone , especially if you had young children. Most of the accommodation was on this road though. If I was going to this area again, I might be tempted to stay in Rhea Apartments, I preferred that end of the town.
We organised taxi transfers direct with the owner at a cost of €80 return. Well worth it , as we saw tour operators herding people around like cattle at the airport on the return. Indeed they were having to queue up outside the airport doors, in the blazing sun with no shade because they insist on getting you there so early. We walked straight to the check in desks after everyone else had booked in and even got extra leg room seats at no extra costs. Just asked at the desk.
I would recommend these apartments with no hesitation and I'm hard to please!

Room Tip: I would have upstairs at the back

We stopped here 23rd June for a week with my fiancée ( part of my Xmas present , thank you xxx ). When we got there we weren't allowed into our room bearing in mind we arrived at around 2pm ( due to late outgoing holidaymakers ) however saying that after this delay we were more than Happy . Rooms were basic although fit for purpose and loads of storage space , bed was comfy , shower a bit tight but everything was very clean . Warning if you haven't got Air Con on your package then you will have to pay 40€ a week plus € for an iron ( ironing board is free, lol ) . The location is quiet with a nice pool to the rear with plenty of available sun loungers . Just to add it is a great place for the better eating places although it is a walk back into the main part of the town so take some comfy shoes to walk in on a night time and change into your going out shoes there ( this is for the women ) . There are loads of walks if you are into that which get you into the real Corfu with the very friendly locals .
I would recommend this to mature couples and would stop here again if visiting .
Pity we didn't get to say bye to Chris and Chris properly as their flight was delayed so if you are reading this it was a pleasure to meet you and we enjoyed your company . Take Care from us xx

Having seen the apts on Tripadvisor with constantly high ratings we decided to try them.Stayed with Eleni and the family for one week from 23 June in a 2 bed apt facing the front, ground floor. Everything that has been said here is true. A really great experience. Good location, nice pool, extremely clean, etc. You just feel part of their family. Simply lovely.

I did think selfishly of keeping this gem of a place in a gem of a resort to myself however, It has all been said on other reviews so its out there. I can confirm this is a wonderful place to stay friendly, spotless, they must be so proud of their property I would be. Not only do they run these perfect 1st class apts but the man of the house is the baker and his bread is 1st class as well. They can do no wrong.

As a couple we were given a family room we thought ourselves extremely lucky 2 bedrooms, 2 balconies one for th sun in the morning and a view I wish I could wake up to every day.... the other for the sun in the pm.

We had such a relaxing time here I would love to return so don't you all go booking it up!!!!!!!

We wanted to go away for our 30th anniversary last October but as we had both turned 50 last year we had already had holidays to Crete and California,so not much money was left in the pot! We found the three cheapest flights on Easy jet and my Grandson picked the flight to Corfu. What a fantastic choice that turned out to be !!
I found the Marilena on trip adviser and emailed the property ,we had a prompt reply from Eleni. She gave us a price inclusive of transfers ,wifi and safety box, which was fantastic value for money. She did say as it was the last week of the season we would have the apartments to ourselves, would we mind? I was actually quite pleased! Our transfer pick up went very smoothly and we were greeted by Eleni even though it was very late at night. She had upgraded us from a studio to a two bedroom apartment ,which was very kind of her!,..It was extremely clean and very comfortable. If you turn left out of the apartments ,the bus stop was just across the road for Corfu ,which we took a couple of times . If you turn right out of the apartments it takes you down to the beach . We stopped at a couple of tavernas both on the way down and on the way back up ,which I recommend ! Takes a bit longer but very enjoyable. Lovely views from the Tango bar. We also had pizza and salad here which was very nice. Some nights we cooked our evening meal and others we ate at the taverna across the road . It was very good but we didn't have much choice as it was end of season.
Back at the Marilena we had the swimming pool to ourselves ,the weather was unusually hot for the time of the year ,so we were very lucky . Eleni made sure we were comfortable and happy and helped my husband out with walking maps for the island ( as she is also a tour guide for the cruise ships ). Her parents were also very kind and friendly and made us feel very welcome.
All in all we had one of the best holidays we have ever had ,we felt like we were millionaires. The island is beautiful ,the accommodation excellent and the service 5 star. If you book here you will be well looked after.

Myself and my partner had a wonderful holiday staying here at the Marilena. So much so I wish I could take this hotel everywhere I go.

The hotel was absolutely spotless and well kept. The girls who run the hotel are so helpful and friendly. They work all through the day cleaning and making sure everything is perfect and everyone is happy.

The atmosphere of the hotel was quiet and relaxed. We spent a lot of time around the pool reading and swimming as the beaches could be quite noisy and busy. Our room was a nice size with comfortable beds. The sheets and towels were changed regularly and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our balcony had nice views including the nice small gardens around the hotel.

Another bonus for this hotel is it is directly over the road from what we considered the best restaurant 'Spiros'.

My wife and I had our first holiday together 13 years ago in Paleokastritsa and loved the place so much we have been going back every year in May for the last 11 years!
We have stayed in various accommodation up and down the resort but find the Marilena the best rooms we have had for what we like. We have friends who stay there every year who showed us round and we liked what we saw so have stayed there for the last two years.
The Marilena is made up of four fantastic apartments with all mod cons and six studio rooms (we have a studio which is adequate for our needs). Unlike a lot of accommodation in Corfu here you get a kettle, hairdrier, shower curtain (proper walk in shower or bath in apartments) and everything is kept very clean by Maria who comes in everyday.
The property is set back from the road so you don't get to much noise and there is a lovely swimming pool to the rear for guests to use with its mountain backdrop. The Marilena is towards the beginning of the resort of Paleokastritsa and is well served by the Supermarket Aris about 150yrds away (there is also a handy ATM there). Our personal favourite tavernas are the Spiros (almost opposite) and the Elia (short walk up the road).
All in all I would highly recommend these family run Studio's and Apartments and Paleokastritsa......see you there in May!
