The hotel bedrooms are plain but clean and there is plenty of hot water in the shower which is not always true in Greece. The food is tasty but simple, but what really makes this hotel are the excellent owners/staff who make youy feel so welcome and go the extra mile to make your stay as good as possible. The scenery is stunning even on a dull day and the best views are from the second and third floors of the hotel. I will go again.

We had 10 days in the Apollon Hotel at the end of May , beginning of June.
We were greeted warmly by the staff on arrival and shown to our room imediatley no waiting. Our room was in the Annexe overlooking two small bays . The room was on the ground / first floor just at the top of the steps and we weren't really happy with its situation as everyone coming up the stairs had a full view of us sitting on the Terrace and straight into our room. I asked if we could move to the upper floor but unfortunatley there was not a room available until two days later but we could have moved 3 rooms down on the same floor next day if we liked. We decided to wait until the upper floor was free and we were not disappointed , with the privacy & the view.

There was no problem changing the room and the staff kept us informed as to when the new room would be available so we didn't waste any of our holiday waiting around. They could not have been nicer or more helpful and apologised that the room was not available sooner.

The rooms were basic but we knew that when we were booking 2 Star Greece. They were though spotlessly clean and the linen changed regularly. The beds were a bit hard & squeaky and our Fridge was quite noisy in the night . There were some dogs barking most nights just further up from the hotel but you do expect that in a semi rural area.

The Breakfast was basic as already stated on here but quite adequate. I had peaches & Greek Yoghurt most mornings followed by a boiled Egg & Coffee. The Restaurant was very quiet in the mornings even though the Hotel was full.

We didn't eat any other meals in the Hotel but had drinks in the bar most evenings after visiting nearby Taverna's . The guy on the bar was very efficient, friendly & amusing.

We had one of the nicest most relaxing holiday's we have ever had staying at the Apollon. We loved the hotel, the beach just across the road and Paleo is beautiful & quite peaceful.

I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to people wanting a relaxing cheap holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for 2nd Floor in the Annexe for Privacy & views.

Just got back from one of our best short break holidays. The Apollon Hotel and its staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful, We were glad we were in the annexe which was quiet and perfectly adequate for our needs. The location was beautiful and surrounded by a fantastic array of bars and restaurants. Our favourite sun-downer bar and restaurant was the Aladino on the left side of the bay- fantastic food at a reasonable price. We would recommend a car to get about and tour the island.

Room Tip: Go to the annexe, its cheaper- we did not spend much time in our room.

I just got back from Corfu Monday evening from staying 7 nights at the Apollon Hotel. When we arrived late at the hotel the place seemed quiet but friendly, the chef offered to cook us up a pizza which we appreciated. This was the only meal we actually ate in the hotel however. Highly recommend other venues for cheaper, more delicious meals!

We booked in for bed and breakfast - I only went downstairs for breakfast twice. What you get is to put it frankly below average and for anything half decent you have to pay extra.

The rooms were decent, we were on the top floor which made all the difference as we had an amazing view. If we had been on any of the lower floors I would not have been as happy.

Our air conditioning also didn't work just as a note, not such a problem in May/early June but I imagine if you go around July/August this could cause a problem!

The area itself is beautiful, there are so many lovely restaurants to eat. Definitely try the local seafood. Our favourite restaurant was by far Alipana. We ate there three nights out of the seven. 4 euros for a starter and 7-8 euros for a main. Great view out onto the boat harbour too.

We recommend getting a boat for the day, these can be rented for 40 euros for the whole day plus petrol. There are many beaches you can visit only by boat so definitely a must!

The location of the Apollon hotel is superb, right by the beach however the beach itself is a little rocky and the sea was very cold when we went! Great for snorkelling once you're actually in it though.

Great holiday made by everything on offer in close radius but the hotel was average, oh and also the beds were AWFUL. So creaky and didnt sleep very well :(

Room Tip: Room 208 is the best!

Just arrived back from a week in the sun. The resort is stunning very pretty - beautiful clear waters lovely bays surrounded by dramatic cliffs. We visited different beaches and swam / snorkelled every day but basically just chilled. Our room (in the main hotel) with the most perfect view - see webcam on hotels website - was basic but fine and had everything we needed:a better standard than usual Greek bathroom, fridge, hair dryer, balcony.
The resort itself got busier while we were there (June seems to be the start of the main season) and we found some lovely restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. I would recommend both Paleo and the hotel to anyone looking for a less touristy Greek resort and a laid back holiday in the sun. The staff were ALL really friendly particularly the reception staff who were extremely helpful.

Returned Tuesday 29 May 2012 after a 3 week stay at the Apollon. During the third week of our holiday, we noticed some items missing in the bathroom. We spoke to Karen at reception who thought this was odd, I mentioned maybe the cleaner could of knocked my cleansing products over and binned them, or maybe they have been stolen? Karen said the cleaner has worked for them for 12 years but would look into the matter. My partner and I returned
to our room 206 where we set up three traps. One was leaving my suitcase zip open 4 inches. When we returned after a day out, the suitcase was zipped up and 30 euros was missing. We went straight to reception asking to speak to Karen or Spiros the owners but they had finished for the day. The bar staff called the owners and we spoke to them on the phone telling them was has happened, Spiros told us this is a police matter. We headed to the police station and was told to go back to Apollon reception and police will be over duing the evening. Finally the police arrived and took all our information. Once that was done we packed all our belongings and left at 11PM to find a safer accommodation to stay for the remaining 5 days.
We returned to the police the next day to get the paperwork we needed for the insurance, but were told this could take up to 3 days. As we were leaving in a few days and had no transport to keep retuning to the police, we let the matter go. It is no suprise that there is virtually no reported crime on the island, the police make it almost impossible. There is an option of a safety box at the hotel reception room, but I didnt expect to have to put all my belongings into one and when needed, to have to walk down 54 steps for some shampoo!!!

This aside, the hotel is in a great position, with stunning veiws, and ,as stated, very quiet. A bit too quiet after the tourist coaches have left at 5.30pm, leaving this part of Paleokastritsa like a ghost town, and it,s quite a hike to the nearest bars and tavernas. One place worth a visit is Faros pool bar, about 20 mins walk. The food is lovely, and freshly cooked in front of you.

This had to be one of the worst holidays we have experienced, and will not be returning to Corfu.

I stayed at the apollon with my husband. It was the worst to weeks ever. First night staying there I got electric shocks from the taps which took days to sort out. Staff weren't very concerned about it. I week in got abused by another guest for talking on the balcony at 10 oclock in the evening, again staff were uninterested. I ended up in floods of tears and wanted to go home. Do not stay here.
