It was our first time at Maria Studios and we can understand why so many people keep returning year after year. The service , the food, the pool and all the other guests we met made it a holiday to remember. Katherina made us truly welcome - nothing was ever too much trouble - a lovely warm welcome every morning. The cooking by Maria was fantastic and the banter with Yannis was the icing on the cake. A fantastic relaxing holiday with great hosts and great guests. Julie & Michael(2)

we have just got back from here, my sister and myself went, its a beautiful family run place where you feel like you are being invited around to their house to eat all the customers were really nice and have made life long friends, in fact we all wanna go back there next year together, its a quiet resort and you come back feeling fully relaxed, yanni the owner is so funny and has a very dry sense of humour, his wife is lovely and his mum makes the best food ever.....i can not recommend this place enough, its just perfect if you want a chilled holiday, rooms are clean as well and they change bedding every other day xx

This is the second time we have stayed at the maria studios and rather than coming back on holiday it was more like visiting family or friends. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed back as part of the family. The service we received was 1st class and the food was freshly prepared in front of your eyes with all fresh local ingredients.Nothing was too much trouble and they even went out of their way to look into car and boat hire which saved us money. The rooms are very clean and linen and fresh towels were provided frequently throughout our stay.BBQ night is very popular and enjoyable as is the pop quiz and bingo which is expertly organized by Bob and Janice. As well as getting on well with the family we made many friends and all the other guests were very friendly which made for a warming atmosphere. You dont need much entertainment when you have Yiannis verbally abusing everyone which all added to a light hearted and fun atmosphere, although there was always his lovely wife Katherina keeping him in check. The pool and sunbeds are more than adequate for the amount of rooms so if you dont fancy much walking there is plenty of room to laze around or in the pool. All in all the holiday was excellent and we cant thank the family enough for making our stay so pleasant, even the kids little Spiros and Maria were very pleasant and Yiannis`s parents Spiros and Maria always greeted you with a warm welcome and smiling face.Looking forward to going back again soon. Michael & Janet

Room Tip: Air con is a must and try and get pool facing room

Just came back from a fantastic two weeks at Maria studios. This was the first time my wife and I had been to paleo and I can honestly say we have never had a more relaxing holiday . From the day we arrived till the day we left we were wined dined and entertained by yiannis, katerina and there wonderful family . The work the family put in to make your holiday is superb . The rooms are very clean ,and towels are changed regularly . There are only 19 rooms and the pool area is very large ,no trouble with sunbeds ,you can get one any time of day . The food cooked by yiannis mum and dad mama Maria and spiros is five star ,from Greek favourites like moussaka, stifado . Kleftiki , or just steak and chips ,the menu is so varied its hard to chose. Barbecue night is a great night where spiros cooks the lamb and the chicken on the spit and yiannis and his family entertain you with Greek dancing , get involved its expected . On a Thursday there's a good music quiz with dj Bob and his wife Janice brilliant laugh. Finally to yiannis and katerina . Yiannis is quite simply Mr entertainment but he's nuts with a heart of gold , just an average Barman that can make an average Greek salad . Katarina is the star of the show , putting up with yiannis , running after there two kids.spiros and wee Maria who is yiannis mark 2 , waitress, cleaner,.cook , nurse and sometimes very forgetful, no wonder. We have already decided we are going back next year. Can't wait as we have made a lot of good friends . If you went here and didn't enjoy it , in the words of yiannis I would say. Dilligaf

My husband and I have just got back from a week at Maria Studios, and loved every minute! We were greeted by the lovely Katerina when we arrived at midnight and showed to our room which we must admit we were disappointed with at first - we had room number 10, which was on the ground floor in the main block, and faced the back. In fact, our terrace was in a corner with high walls each side and no view whatsoever. However, pretty soon into our holiday we realised we had a brillient room, as we got no sun into it whatsoever and so (compared to most other rooms) ours stayed lovely and cool! In fact, if we went back we would ask for that room again! After dumping our bags, we headed straight down to the bar where we met Yiannis and some other guests, who were all returning visitors but made us feel very welcome and we made new friends on night one!

The pool at the studios is gorgeous, pretty big by Paleo standards and lovely when the temperature hit 40 degrees every day like it did with us! (We definitely needed the aircon in the rooms - 5 Euros a night). Everywhere outside was always clean and tidy and there was never a problem with getting a sun lounger, no matter what time of day you went down.

The studios are very well situated, beaches and tavernas either way. I must admit we didn't eat in the studios as we like to go out and have a stroll and sample other places, but the guests who did eat at the studios said the food was lovely. Our favourite restaurants were Nereids (turn left out of the studios) and Alipa which is at the harbour. We had many a lovely, leisurely lunch here watching the boats come and go.

There is a supermarket next door to the studios and lots of places nearby to hire scooters or quad bikes, or sort out boat hire.

After eating each night, we went back to the studios and the bar was open until late. Yiannis is great, very entertaining and highly amusing - if you don't have a sense of humour, don't come! Yes, he can tease people and insult people (but everyone, including us, takes this good naturedly, which is how he means it!). He can also take it as well as give it, it was a lot of fun winding him up!

His wife Katerina is fabulous, always smiling and so helpful, nothing is too much trouble.

I can honestly say that this is probably the friendliest accommodation we've ever stayed in on holiday, Yiannis and Katerina (and Bob who does a great quiz night on Thursdays!) are brillient hosts and the other guests (mainly repeat customers) were great and we had many chats and laughs. I would highly recommend this accommodation - we like to go to different places on holiday but if we were ever to go back to Paleo, we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Paleo itself is absolutely stunning, the views are breathtaking. All in all, a brillient holiday!
