“Not quite Italian food as expected”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2011

The pizza was not Italian...reminded me of mediocre pizzas of the 90' s in Greece. If you advertise your self as un Italian restaurant at least you need a wood oven... Need to say though that the pasta portions were really big. If what you are looking for is quantity then the best choice. The location is on a busy road...no view or atmosphere.

“Great food every time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2011

As mentioned there are not that many places to eat in Nikiana so on the basis of previous reviews this was our first stop. Our first evening we shared a large Greek salad and large pizza , 1/2 litre of wine and water - 19 euros. It was the holiday weekend and they were very busy but they coped briliantly and everyone was kept happy.

We made repeat visits and every meal was excellent- pork with mushroom sauce, chicken in white wine and the lemon chicken were great- all freshly cooked. They go out of their way to accomodate - personally could not get enough of their olives- 4 different types ! One night we asked for just a bowl to snack on - no problem. If you want something cooked a certain way just ask. Top price paid was 31 euros for 2. Portions are generous - the bruscheta starter is huge and tastes great but def one to share.

They do great business with takeaway pizzas. Only downside is that the building is on the roadside so when the local idiots decide to race up and down it can be a little annoying- but we sat near the rear ( and let the smokers have the tables nearer the road!) But after that first visit it was quieter and like most of the businesses they are all hoping the season picks up. They deserve to do well.

“Great Pizza, Fab chicken, great service and good value”

4 visits and all excellent. Nice barrel wine in a jug too. No downside at all.
Pizza Jenny is lovely and the Chicken Vino Bianco was gorgeous.

“Decent restaurant for Nikiana’s standards”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2010

To start off, Nikiana hasn’t a lot of choices for dinner... that said pane e vino may be one of the best choices you have in Nikiana, if you don't want to go to Nydri or Lefkada city.

It's a classic Italian restaurant, with a wide selection of pizzas and spaghettis, and with other plates as well, such as pork etc.

BUT...

Look, I am not a chef, nor an Italian food expert, but guys, since when Arabiata spaghetti...
1) Has olives?
2) Has olives with the core? Ok, I like olives, but come on guys, get a core remover! It's not eatable, how can you put it in a spaghetti sauce?
3) Is not hot at all? At ALL! It’s Arabiata, for God’s Sake!

All in all, it's a decent restaurant for Nikiana’s standards.
