Exceptionally clean studios with everything u need and lovely views especially from studio block.
I would really recommend these studios for peace and quiet. Nothing bad to say about them.
Good location away from main road 5 mins (if that) walk from bus stop no 15 - where u can go to skiathos town or other beaches. We went to skiathos town most nights to eat as such choice and in old part very picturesque. If there are 4 of u at bus stop "haggle" with taxi driver and u can go for 8 euros for all 4 cents more than bus price. Good bits of hol - dog shelter and boat trip (only paid 15 euros for a full day - saw dolphins. Dont b ripped off with other tours at 45 euros. Nice walks too. Lovely green greek island. Theodora studios near by - nice pool and bar.

I can't really embellish the rose, as it were. The previous reviewers have this place reviewed as it is and I just wanted to say how much enjoyed it.
It is quiet, up a lane but nearby there is a good mini-market, the bus stop and some good eating places.
Gardens are gorgeous and the pool is clean, not over chlorinated.
Studio was perfect. Bonus was the kettle, rare in greek s/c. Comfortable bed, good lights for bedtime reading and a shower curtain. If you need any extra pillows or blankets (as the beds are hard for some), they will be happy to oblige.
There are various "countryside noises" (doggies barking and cockerels) but I was so relaxed on this holiday, I did'nt find it an issue.
The people that were here this time were 2 repeat guests and 2 newcomers, including myself. We went out every night with them, as they were such nice people who enjoy the simplicities of a greek holiday. Hello to Tony, Valerie & Nigel and Shiela-had a great time, thanks.
I would certainly consider coming back to these studios before I have been to Kefalonia, Santorini and Lesbos.....!!!!!
Good place to eat was the Pegasus (Ag Paraskevi). I went 2 nights in a row!!!
Weather was good apart from the last day.

Room Tip: Get in touch with Olympic prior to travel for requests.

Our friend was getting married in Skiathos and as we had already had one major holiday this year decided to go for the more reasonably priced accommodation of demetris...

Flight into skiathos is a little bumpy and thrilling to fly so low over the beaches. The island is tiny so only took 10/15 minutes to get to hotel but then had to walk up to the hotel from the road. Not too bad a walk just remember a torch for the nights it gets quite dark!!!

Hotel is basic but clean. There was not a double bed only twin beds but they were comfy. Room got very hot so had to hire a fan (you can get air con for 6euros a night). Swimming pool is strange to begin with (pebbled dash) but was mostly empty. The hotel feels very secluded lots of farm animals around, cats and insects making noise. Good shop just down the road to get all your food needs.

Huge amount of beaches around the island - 60 in total. Hire a quad bike/jeep and grab a map and go to as many as you can. Diamond beach is amazing if you dont mind the climb down.

Many restaurants to eat in - Maris Pizza place in skiathos was fantastic - you have to queue to get in which is always a good sign. The view restaurant in Kolios is very romantic. For good value find the hidden restaurants off the beaten track.

When you leave check in your luggage and the go back out of the airport to the bar across the road. We did this and was able to grab a last meal and drink in the sun. Others did not and had to sit on the floor of a very small departure lounge for a couple of hours.

Will definately be going back to Skiathos we have more beaches to see. If this is out only holiday for the year we would probably book somewhere else but if its the second holiday then demetris would be it.

Room Tip: Try to get one of the rooms at the top with only a balcony and not a garden. Amazing view of the sea...

Just come back from our best Greek holiday ever. Rooms are basic but spotless and location is fantastic! Peaceful and secluded , but close enough to the buses for easy travel around the island. Local walking is great and as easy or as difficult as you want to make it. End of season when we were there so the shops are running their stock down but no trouble getting the basics and Skiathos town is 5 - 10 minutes on the bus for a bit more shopping. Beautiful island and the people were warm and friendly. If you want 5 star comfort and to be waited on hand and foot the forget it , but if you want a relaxing self-catering holiday in a beautiful location you'd be hard pressed to beat this.

The reviews below are spot on and these studios met my expectations. The studios are a block of 10, five up and 5 down with views of the sea although it is just the sea in the distance. The other 5 are in a seperate block just behind, views obstructed but no big deal.
On a negative, the bathroom could benefit from a curtain as the hand held device sprayed everything in the room. The other was the beds. Very hard indeed but ok for those with a bad back. The only thing I came back for was my memory foam!
There is a lovely pool which goes to be quite deep steeply but otherwise very welcome.

The walk up from the main road is up a concrete path and a torch is reccomended especially if you walk down the main road to Jimmys or Green Park which are both worth a visit.

Geting about is easy, just go to bus stop 15 and take your pick. We went on a couple of trips, The secret Skiathos was worth the swim at Lararia beach althogh the visit to the mainland was a negative as the Taverna suggested was a joke. Mrs overall is working there.

The Catamaran on the Wednesday was well woth it but I would suggest you book this direct with the skipper on the harbour as the numbers are less on any other day and the experience would be so much better. We did get to see dolphins and capture them on video.
The trip called Agean Blue was very good. The lady on board called Victoria was exceptional and her walk tour around Skopelos town was fabulous.

To sum it up, I can see why so many people go back as the island is safe and beautiful. Not cheap but dont go on holiday if you worry about the price of yoghurt.

We have just come back from a brilliant week in Skiathos (2nd time there) and stayed at the Demetris through Olympic Holidays. The studios are typically Greek - basic, fairly small hard beds, dodgy plumbing and a hand held shower. However, it's all you really need for a holiday like this. We stayed in room 7 which had a lovely balcony with sea view. If you sleep with the doors open (as we do) you will be woken up by cockerals from about 4.30am every day - comical to start with but really annoying by the end of the week! Good job you can sleep on the beach! We had a few plumbing issues including our toilet not working but this soon got sorted after having to show the owner the problem as she doesn't speak a single word of English! The pool area is more of a pond than a pool - it's tiny and looks green! The beach at Kolios is absolutely gorgeous, our fave of all the beaches (and we've tried a lot of them) - it's quiet, pretty, nice taverna, relaxing and sea is gorgeous. Only a 5 min walk as well.
These studios are at bus stop 15 so be warned you will have to stand to go into town or the other way to Koukanaries as it gets so busy - not a long journey tho.
Would recommend Infinity Blue near these studios and Green Park at stop 16 (only a short walk) - food and service at both is brilliant.
Another tiny thing about the rooms - we only had a clean/towel/bed change once in a week and they don't provide you with any toilet roll after your first one is gone so you need to buy your own.
All in all, skiathos is a wonderful place for a lovely sunny, relaxing beach holiday - the Demetris are OK, basic, good location for this type of break. Olympic reps are over the top and annoying but you can avoid them if you want to!

Just returned from 2 weeks at Demetris studios in Kolios (Aug 2011). The apartments are up quite a steep hill but the view is well worth the climb. Room 8, 9 and 10 have the most wonderful sea views and are as you would expect self catering apartments to be in Greece. They are very clean, enough utensils for cooking a basic meal on 2 rings (although we ate out for the whole 2 weeks) bathroom was large but didn't have a shower curtain. Balcony has a table and 2 chairs with spectacular views. The only sounds are the sheep, crickets and cockerills. We slept with our windows wide open but had to get up at 4 ish to shut the noise of Cocky the Cockerill out as once he started he seemed to set off every cockerill in the whole of the village! The beach is a 10 minute walk down the hill and across the main road. It is a lovely quiet beach with sunbeds (8 euros for 2 beds and brolly - this was the same at all beaches on the island) toilets and a bar where you can get food, drinks and ices. The swimming pool at Demetris is lovely, quite small but enough to dip in and cool off. Whilst we were there there was hardly ever anyone by the pool. There are only 8 sunbeds around the pool but that never seemed to be a problem. The only down side in our opinion was that all the beach resorts in Skiathos are located alongside the "main road" around the island. To eat out in the evenings we had to walk along quite a busy road which I would not have wanted to do with small children or buggies. It is about a 10 minute walk down to the restaurants along the busy road and although there were enough to give variety for 2 weeks there is not that much choice. We would highly recommend Green Park restaurant which is up a side street and Platanias was very nice too. The local restaurant 5 minutes from apartment (Diamond restaurant) was very good with a lovely friendly family running it. There is also a supermarket 5 minutes from the apartment which stocked everything we needed. You don't need to carry your shopping all the way up the hill. We had a little motor bike the first week and went around the coast to different beaches and into Skiathos main town which is beautiful and not to be missed. The people watching there is amazing and the yachts/boats that come into the harbour are a sight to see. We would also recommend the boat trip on Poseidon (I know it sounds doomed but it was a fantastic day out) which goes to Skopelos the "Mamma Mia" island. You get to swim at a lovely beach and visit Skopelos main town and see the church that was used in the film. Skopelos was a lovely pretty and untouristy island which was well worth the visit. Our friends joined us for our second week which we spent on the beach at Kolios just relaxing, reading and eating and drinking!! A good holiday.
