“Nice place”

I entirely agree with the Sarah's review. I would just add that the place is located in a quiet area far from traffic and really few steps from the beach. We admired the private garden with an old olive tree, orange trees and pots with little peppers on the terasse. All with the seashell style of the house with the amazing sea and mounting view from the balcony made our stay almost magic. It is true that both bedrooms are very small especially with installated cots for our babies - you can't almost move. Hopefully there is more space in the "living room" and two terasses. The amenities are generally old and some almost dangerous to use - some plugs really need to be repaired. We would have appreciated the cleaning service more offen, our linen were changed once during a week. You also have to empty the trash yourself. All these things probably reflect good price of the booking.
The travel agent Eos was very helpful, they reacted quickly, were able to install baby chairs and cots and repaired broken light on our demand. We also welcomed good wifi connection.
We travelled through different places on the island and Barbati was one of the most beautiful. The mountain view from the sea is fantastic, beaches are empty and clean, tavernas kitchen really delicious. The end of September is out of season, beach bar was closed and pool not cleaned every day but the weather is still fine and sunny. I would recommend the place and maybe come back someday.

“Perfect location, fantastic stay”

LOCATION

The location for us was absolutely fantastic, down a number of steps at the side of the property and you were at the beach which is the most beautiful setting, has a great beach bar and a small number of places to eat.

We made use of a swimming pool near to the property which hardly ever had anyone there.

On the main road there are around 7 tavernas, all of which served excellent food, a supermarket and a couple of tourist shops. To go out to eat in the evening we had been walking up the hill to the road but also found if you keep walking down the beach, you come to a cocktail bar and from there are some steps up to the road which was an easier walk.

You can hire a boat for the day (we hired from Spiros on the beach) which I would highly recommend, we went to beaches you couldn't access by car and you can stop at a number of places to eat.

We drove around the North of the coast and Barbati was a fantastic choice, less touristy and not a place that I imagine even in peak season would be over crowded.

ACCOMMODATION
It was perfect for what we needed. The kitchen is small but absolutely fine for making light meals, the portable BBQ is great and we stayed and ate in a few evenings. The kitchen however is also under the stairs so it meant you had to bend when using the sink.

The view from balcony upstairs is fantastic, out onto the ocean. The patio downstairs is a great space to eat and relax.

Although there are two rooms and two shower rooms plus a sofa bed I wouldn't recommend anymore than a couple or a small family stay. The rooms are quite cosy in size and we ended up using one for sleeping and one for all our clothes etc. The shower rooms are also small including the shower cubicle themselves but I think this is quite typical and was no issue to us.

The linen was changed a couple of times in 12 days whilst we were there, however given there is no washing machine it would be good if it was changed more frequently especially the tea towels.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
When we booked through Trip Advisor it was then through a travel agents called Eos that made all the arrangements and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They answered any questions I had before I booked and on the lead up to the stay, organised car hire that was delivered to our accommodation and far better than booking through the normal major car hire companies (no hidden extras!), when we got there the BBQ wasn't at the property they had it delivered within in no time at all of me texting them, they sent text messages in advance of my stay and then a few times during the stay to check if there was anything I needed and finally I left my watch there and they are organising to send it back.

SUMMARY
All in all this was fantastic holiday, Barbati is absolutely beautiful with everything you need there, the locals are super friendly, the food amazing and Seashell Maisonnette was overall great.
