pop in to see the lovely Claudia - this is the happiest place we went to. Claudia gave us so much advice about luz & red wine 80cents so we had a few of these :-)

From the outside you would think this cafe is "a place for the locals" as it is not done up fancy and has no gimmicks trying to entice the tourists! We are so glad we entered tho, it has the best coffee I've ever had and the prices are ridiculously low, you do wonder how they can be making money!!! We went every day and it is true that locals do frequent here however it is open to everyone and all are more than welcome!!! Bruno is such a lovely man, one of the nicest men I have ever met and Claudia is a really really nice lady. After visiting a couple of times we felt like they had known us for years, they don't forget a face!! To sum up caffe jasmim is the best local place you will ever go to for coffee, atmosphere and drinks of the "nightcap" variety!!
If in Luz you must visit!

We popped in here twice on our way home, mainly due to the previous reviews. What a friendly cafe! Free wifi, excellent coffee and a glass of port with a nice bit of chat, lovely end to an evening.
Beware of the smokers though...

From the outside this cafe/bar does not look the most inviting. however, the owner goes out of his way to make you welcome, is only too keen to provide you with any information regarding bus travel, timetables etc etc. Oh by the way did I mention that the price of beer/spirits, and food is well below thse to be found in the town centre, hence the many Brit's who get in early.

Family owned and frequented by locals and visitors alike... and think this is a firm favourite with the expat community too... for good reason!
Claudia is always a little ray of sunshine in the morning.... and this was regularly our last stop on the way home. Popping in for a wee nightcap, of course...
You'll always find the football on... but don't let that put you off... beer for a euro and in the evening, the lovely Bruno will normally join you for a port or two if it's not too busy...
This is popular because the food/drink is reasonable... but more than that... it's like your own little local when you're away from home...
