Stayed at this hotel for a week in September 2011 and was very impressed. The rooms are located in two/three storey buildings which are approached from pathways set in gardens of lovely shrubs and flowers which are kept immaculate. Our room was kept spotlessly clean throughout plus a comfortable bed, in some hotels it is like sleeping on a rock! We had a first floor superior room so had views of the pool one side from the balcony and windows at the back had views of the hills, which if you had the energy you could climb to the top of. We managed half way but this provided lovely views over Luz Bay.
We were half board meals, we enjoyed breakfast (I liked the coffee - all down to taste). There wasn't much choice at evening but some nights the dining room was practically empty so it would not be economical to provide more and at £18 supplement we thought was expensive.
Pools were quiet and two afternoons we had the adult pool to ourselves. Some sunbeds had seen better days but there were always plenty available at all times of the day. There was shade provided which was needed as the sun was still very powerful.
Luz Bay was a short walk and again very tranquil with a few bars, retaurants and shops. There were two supermarkets but we only shopped at Spar.
We went to Lagos on the local bus which was very crowded so best caught at the Church rather than the stop by hotel, we were given this tip and were glad we were told. We spent the day in the old town which has a surprisingly good selection of shops.
We had a wonderful week just chilling out and this is a good place to go to do just that.
