Quite nice, well kept complex of apartments. We stayed in 2bdrs ground floor apartment. It had 2 terraces. The one with table and chairs was unfortunately far from the kitchen. What a pity. The master bathroom very uncomfortable (limited space to get into the bathtub). The other one better designed and bigger.

The reception staff very helpful. The welcome kit (mineral water, coffee, tea, washing tablets) is a nice touch.

I did not like the idea that the cleaning/towel change is twice a week only. Strange thing with a pool. The one for adults is heated, while for babies not.

I would try upper floor apartment next time.

Overall, good base for visiting Algarve region.

The apartments were lovely, clean and spacious . Ours on the ground floor was very private but other had less attractive balconies and outlooks. The only negative was the bed comfort - really uncomfortable very hard mattresses so sleep was very disturbed and noisy neighbours above also added to this. Reception and domestic staff very friendly and helpful. The area - from apartments a fair walk to some attractions like the beach and some bars/restaurants but we like to walk and it felt really safe to explore with children . Supermarkets although really busy and slow to serve were well stocked. They had great choice of healthy foods that are not always readily available in the UK like different soya, rice, almond milks, lots of soya yogurts and even dairy free ice cream. Also some gluten free products and great tins of sardines etc. A fabulous health food shop next to the supermarket but very very expensive. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend. Just check airport transfers as we thought this was included when booked with expedia and it was not so cost us another £ 180 . Overall Food was more expensive than anticipated in the shops and cafes/restaurants but it was good quality especially the fish.

Room Tip: Spacious ground floor if you have kids may be safer and better but if you wish more scenic romantic...

We stayed in an immaculate 2 bedroom apartment at the Baia da Luz complex. A beautiful, peaceful holiday, no hassles over sunbeds, in fact no hassle at all. One tip would be to get a taxi from the airport as we spent almost 2 hours dropping off. This was soon forgotten, however, when we took in the delights of this lovely resort. Plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance from the complex. Do check out Chris and Vikki at 'Rio's @ No 2' (walk past reception to the top of the hill, second building to your left). This is a new venture but they are most welcoming and will ensure you have a good time. Prices are good too. All in all a brilliant holiday.

Room Tip: If possible book a room that is poolside, as you wake up and walk straight from your room to the poo...

I stayed in a two bedroom apartment in the Baia da Luz complex with my sister and a friend from 29th June - 7th July. we were all extremely impressed with the quality of the interior and all the facilities. The rooms were cool and spacious and we had maid service and the linen changed twice a week. Each apartment has a long balcony with plenty of room for eating al fresco or reading outside. The pool area was close by with a children's area and a separate adult pool (just make sure you bag a sunbed early in the day if you want some shade!). Praia da Luz is a stunning resort and the beach was only a five minute walk from the apartments. The three of us had a wonderful time and I am now desperate to go back with my husband!

We have just returned from a 10-day trip to Praia da Luz. We can't speak highly enough about the facilities we had in our beautiful apartment; 2 good-sized bedrooms with their own balconies overlooking a quiet street, large built-in wardrobes with loads of storage space, master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, separate bathroom for the kids to use. The huge lounge was spectacular, not least of all the large balcony which looked out on to the Baia da Luz private gardens. The large kitchen contained everything you could want: fridge/freezer, microwave, hob, dishwasher, washer/drier. We were amazed at the quality of all the equipment and the room itself - electric blinds, hardwood floors. And then there was the underground car park, keeping the car safe and cool - the kids loved the remote control electric doors to the car park (all provided at no extra cost). There are numerous lifts from the car park to each floor - we only had to walk 10 yards from the car to the lift door!
The whole complex is designed in Roman style, reflecting the history of Luz. The pool area is well laid out, although at busier times it could be difficult to find a sun lounger. We always chose the adult pool (our youngest kid is 16, the minimum age for using the adult pool) and it was never too busy. The pool itself was spotlessly clean and water warm.
Talking of cleaning, the maid service in the apartment (every second day) was very good - fresh towels and everything tidied up nicely.
Although surrounded by quiet streets, the apartment was only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and a 15 minute stroll to the centre of town - we only used the car when carrying out a shopping trip. The Spar and Baptista supermarkets in Luz are fairly small but stock all essentials at reasonable prices. For a bigger choice and slightly lower prices, the large Inter-Marché on the outskirts of Lagos (10 minutes' drive from Luz) is easily accessible from the apartments, as is the very impressive Boavista golf course (only 5 minutes' drive). We were pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices for hiring golf clubs and a buggy - it helps that July is considered low season for golfing in the Algarve.
All the locals we met, whether in Baia da Luze, Boavista, the shops or the restaurants were a pleasure to deal with - they were very welcoming and all spoke excellent English.
A great holiday in a great location.

Room Tip: Try to get a room where the large balcony overlooks the stunning, quiet gardens. A great place to h...

Found this apartment on Internet through James villas. It was excellent. Had ground floor poolside apartment with two bedrooms. Only downside was only one bathroom. Apartment had two balconies and washing machine and dishwasher. Maid service including clean towels twice during week. Nice toiletries in bathroom plus welcome pack. Staff all friendly and beach and good restaurants 5 minutes walk away. If come back would go for larger apartment on upper floor to get en suite bathroom and more of a view. Overall though very satisfied and would recommend.

Stayed for one week with family. Two bedroom apartment was modern, clean and well equipped with everything in good working order. Our apartment overlooked the gardens and was located just across the road from the swimming pool and restaurants. Decent size pools, probably a bit too small for the number of apartments, occasionally difficult to get sun-loungers.
Five minute walk to the beach, which is occasionally a bit breezy though not uncomfortable.
The village has rather limited choice of restaurants, Lagos nearby is worth a trip for eating out and strolling around at night.
A minor gripe was the fact that gates going into the individual blocks slam shut loudly which means that latecomers inevitably make noise. This was annoying some nights for those of us sleeping in the room near the gates. Overall a very good stay in what is a a well-above average apartment complex with good facilities and nice staff.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms directly over the gates if you are a light sleeper.
