“Lovely accomodation in quiet location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2012

Stayed at Baia da Luz over half term holiday, in an apartment for 4. Great accomodation, modern, clean with everything you would need.Vitor in reception was very accomodating, organising transfer taxi for us. We were a short stroll from the swimming pools and restaurant. Adult only pool was heated more than the other pool therefore lots of families used adult pool. Family pool was quite chilly in comparison. Pool bar and restaurant were great with good food and fantastic service. All staff were friendly and helpful. Plaia da Luz was a 10 minute walk away with a choice of restaurants and 2 well stocked supermarkets. A very quiet and peaceful resort, great for families. We loved it and would definitely recommend this accomodation and resort.

Spotlessly clean apartment with everything you might need. Location was good, staff polite. Only criticisms we had would be that the bed was not very comfy and we did have a 'poor' apartment in that there was no real view. The gate to the clock was very noisy as well as other residents lacked the consideration to close it quietly. The pool was lovely, only spoilt by the families who let their children use the adults only pool. The restaurant was amazingly nice, with excellent staff. We ate the food every night, usually getting a take away to enjoy in the apartment. Would definately stay again and hope that the people in the apartment above would have less of a habit of dragging furniture about as the sound proofing it not great.

Room Tip: There were much prettier views than the one we had, try to get a high floor room or one overlooking...

We arrived to find a beautiful apartment where everything seemed practically new. The under floor heating was great as it can still be chilly in April. We were asked to provide credit card details for any breakages that occur-we did not realise this at time of booking. The pool is lovely and clean. Not much happening in the town. We had hired a car from the airport which meant we could travel around (would recommend this). The town of Lagos takes about 5 mins in the car. We traveld to Sagres and Martinhul beaches which were fab ( and slightly warmer in the cooler months).Would go back again.

Room Tip: we stayed in block 17 which was just across the road from pool etc.

Spent a week here as a couple in September 2011. The place had a nice atmosphere even at this time of year there were still people around the pool although it was never busy and there were plenty of sun loungers available. The apartment is a great size, we had a two bedroom apartment and it was great having two bathrooms and a balcony which had a great size table for dining. The kitchen was a fantastic size, a lot bigger than many of the kitchens I have found in other self catering apartments in the past and made eating in a lot more feasible and no bother at all compared to other apartments stayed in in the past where the kitchens were small and not properly equipped. The black out shutters on all of the windows on the apartments are a great addition for a good nights sleep and also keeping the apartment cool during the day when you are out, although the air conditioning is more than adequate in keeping the place cool. The Italian restaurant within the complex is delicious and is definitely one of the better restaurants in Luz although there are plenty of other restaurants to choose from in the town and there is really no need to go any further than Luz in the evening for dinner and night time entertainment and Luz is less than a five minute walk from the complex. I was very happy with my stay here.

Stayed in Vila Baia in June 2011. The apartments are lovely, with all the 'mod cons' you would need on holiday. The pool area is a little cramped but nice and adequate. Complex is a short walk to beach. Liz itself is a very quiet resort. Good restaurants. A few bars but resort shuts form around midnight. Great for is but not for anybody looking for s bit of night life. Definately the complex and resort for a relaxing holiday.

Sept 2011 - just returned from a one week break staying in a one bed, poolside apartment at the Baia da Luz resort in Praia da Luz. We cannot fault any aspect of our stay. The accomodation, location, cleanliness, staff, restaurant and other facilities were all fab! We spent our days at the 'adult only' pool, which was very peaceful and relaxing and the water was very warm.

The staff went out of their way on a number of occasions to ensure our stay was as enjoyable as it possibly could be. We were able to check in earlier than advertised and rather than check out at 10am on our last day, we were allowed to stay until our transfer collectected us at 6pm at no extra cost.

I would highly recommend the on - site Italian restaurant & take away, as well as the bar/poolside food available during the day. There are also many fantastic restaurants within short walking distance. The beach was also only a short 5 minute walk.

Everywhere was very clean and cleaners tended to the apartments 3 times during our stay replacing towels etc. Everything we required within the aparment was on hand - icluding a dishwasher, ironing board, iron etc, plenty of storage space, all kitchen utensils. Rooms were fully air conditioned.

The weather was also excellent (apparently warmer than average for this time of year).

We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this holiday to couples - young and old as well as to families with young children.

Room Tip: I would recommend requesting a poolside apartment if you like to have easy access to your room durin...

We stayed at the Baia da Luz apartments at the end of August 2011 for 1 week. As soon as we arrived in the shuttle bus we could see that the apartments complex looked very clean and attractive from the outside. Very friendly welcome from staff at reception on arrival and any time we went there to ask directions etc. The apartment we had was in Block 020 apartment 2A. This apartment was furnished to a very high standard with all mod cons eg large fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven/grill, sky TV (not sports or movies), DVD player, Midi Hi-fi system, toaster, iron, hoover, kettle etc. The apartment was only being used by my wife and I, however on the 1st floor in addition to the spacious master bedroom the accomodation consisted of, bathroom with toilet, bidet, bath, shower and hairdrier, living room with dining table, 2 single seat armchairs, 3 seater sofa, which could be folded out into additional double bed, spacious well kitted out kitchen. There was a narrow balcony outside the master bedroom (picked up the sun from mid afternoon on), a small balcony at the side of the apartment (in shade) and a large balcony the width of the living room and kitchen. This balcony picked up the sun from morning to early afternoon and was great for sitting out on for breakfast. On the second floor of the apartment was a bedroom with 2 single beds, and a raised floored area which looks like it would be for an additional double bed or another 2 singles, a bathroom with large shower. Outside there was a secluded balcony which picked up the sun from 10am (ish) to late afternoon. We spent a fair bit of time sunning ourselves here in complete privacy. Only slight negative was there was no sun loungers in the appartment, just cane seats, so just as well we had a couple of lie-lows with us for lying out on the balcony. The apartment had nice wooden floors throughout, and the air conditioning was very good with little or no noise. The complex also has a nice pool area, which we didn't really make us of due to spending time in privacy on the balcony or down at the nearby beach. The pool area was very clean with a couple of pools, one for adults and one for kids. There was also a play area for kids, a pool table and games console for kids to amuse themselves. There was a restaurant in the pool area which we only used a couple of times for lunch, which was tasty enough and reasonably priced. There were a couple of good quality tennis courts for those who wanted to run around getting even hotter.

Room Tip: Go for upper apartments to see more sun on balconies. free wifi in reception/pool area
