What can I say that has not been said before? This is still a top notch place to stay. The perfect recipe for a good holiday is first of all the place and Paxos certainly is the place, perfect accommodation - Zapspitaki ticks all the boxes, good food - available from Pratikos the local taverna or fine dining at vassilis in Loggos and of course Helens breakfasts are well documented. Good weather, September was perfect, blue sky's and a warm breeze.
Loggos on Paxos is a very special place and Zapspitaki is a very special place to stay. Highly recommended.

We felt at home in Jacaranda Cottage as soon as we walked through the door - of course our actual home isn't beautifully designed and furnished, have the nicest kitchen we've ever seen, or a little terrace overlooking the olive groves and the sea where a delicious breakfast is delivered every morning. But Jacaranda Cottage does! and Helen and Nick had it all - great advice for what to do on the island, lots of travelling stories, a beautiful garden and baking skills to envy (Helen that is - not so much Nick or so he says). We felt at home because of the space, the freedom to come and go as we wished and the comfort of the surroundings. Recommended to anyone who wants a peaceful and relaxing break from hectic life.

Let me tell you why:
Zakspitaki is a lovely place with wonderful hosts, Helen and Nick.
Last summer we visited Zakspitaki for the 4th time. We stayed in the Jacaranda which is a large, well equipped cottage with a spacy living room, a french inspired kitchen, an African-stylish bathroom and a lovely bedroom with a large and very comfortable bed. The Jacaranda is not airconditioned, but have three effective roof-fans which gives the cottage the perfect temperature and atmosphere even if it´s very hot outside. Actually, we prefer this coolingsystem rather than AC, because the difference beeing inside and outside isn´t that big.

Helen and Nick, with the help of Jonella, are the most welcoming and including hosts you ever wanted, the breakfasts are so lovely, always a new combination of home-made bread and cakes,  jellys and meat and cheese every morning.
If you have the passion of good and fine wine, you can also have an unforgettable experience of wine-discussion with Nick who is a connoisseur of French wine, especially the different wines of Chateauneuf du Pape.

A typical morning for us is to drive down to a small beach 5 min. away and have a bath around 9 o´clock (you will have the beach all by yourself!), get back around 10 and then be served the breakfast.

The Zakspitaki is situated in a silent olive-grove above the tiny town of Loggos, which is our favorite town in Paxos. We normally use a car to get downtown, but you can easily walk down in 15 min. There you´ll find nice restaurants, shops and boathire, and free WiFi all over. There is also a very nice restaurant 2 min. walk from Zakspitaki which we use a lot.

We always want to return to Paxos and Zakspitaki, and therefore we have already booked a week for next year.

If you are thinking of visiting Paxos then look no further and stay here!! We stayed for 14 nights in the Zanzibar room. The room was amazing and although there was a bed in the room for our 5 year old, the enormous four poster bed was more than big enough for three of us! Breakfasts as everyone else has said are great, (with extra to pack up for lunch), and Yoenella who helped Helen to serve breakfast was lovely and friendly.

Helen was simply brilliant with our son. She had such patience with his endless chatter and went out of her way to ensure we all had a great holiday. She gave us advice on the best places to visit, rang to book things for us, (including a fantastic boat tour, a boat and car to hire and endless taxis!) Some of our son's highlights at Zakspitaki were spending an afternoon baking pizzas with Helen for the pizza night and us all going swimming with her at 6.30am to watch the sun rise on our last morning.

Our top tips!
* Save your money hiring a car and spend it on hiring a boat for a few days instead. The island is small so unless you are visiting lots of places each day taxis will work out cheaper, (a return taxi to Lakka cost us €18, a taxi into Loggos was €6).
* If you visit Anti-Paxos on the boat tour (which is a great tour), take the steps to the taverna at the top. We were so glad to be told about this as the views are amazing!
* If you want to save taking a cool bag then use the frozen bottles of water that Helen has in the freezer for guests to buy. They are a great way to ensure a cool drink on the beach and keep any food cool too!
* Have an evening meal at the sunset bar – the view and the whole atmosphere there was amazing!

Paxos is a great place to visit but we wouldn't have had such a fantastic holiday if we had stopped anywhere other than Helen and Nick's. Huge thanks to them both xx

This was our first time visiting Paxos and we fell in love with the Island! Helen and Nick run a wonderfully efficient yet relaxed B&B. They couldn’t have been more helpful and Helen booked numerous restaurants and taxis for us. It was great having such a supply of local knowledge.

At the beginning of our holiday Helen booked a boat tour for us – which we would thoroughly recommend. It was just the right size boat and gave us a chance to see what beaches we’d like to go back to!

We stayed in Jacaranda Cottage – which definitely didn’t disappoint. The photos don’t really do it justice, as it’s much larger and very comfortable – with a great DVD and book collection.

Having read all the other reviews we would add that it’s a reasonable walking distance from the beach, but we found what suited us best was a walk down the hill in the morning and get a taxi home at the end of a day on the beach.

and were not disappointed (of course).
Our second year at Zakspitaki and Paxos.
The joy of being able to go to magnificent beaches in the height of summer and to have it virtually to yourself is a treat in itself. Add to that the delightful hospitality of Nick & Helen; you have a perfect holiday.
Bravo!

My wife and I stayed in Jacaranda for a week in July / August 2013 having booked on the strength of Trip Advisor reviews. Prior to our arrival, nothing was too much trouble with E-mails answered promptly, sorting our ferry tickets for us and a free collection from the port. Meeting Nick and Helen for the first time was like bumping into long lost friends to the extent that by the end of the week we were asking them to stay with us if they found themselves in our part of the UK!.
Can only endorse all the comments made elsewhere regarding the quality of the accommodation, food, advice and hospitality offerred. Only thing I would add is that the sheer size of Jacaranda does not shine through the other reviews. the lounge alone must be about 7x5metres in addition to the two bedrooms, large kitchen and bathroom.
Our only concern prior to arrival was the lack of air conditioning as we were staying at the hottest time of the year. Was not a problem since there were so many electric fans provided. We very rarely repeat holidays - there is a big planet out there!! - but If we return to Greece we would go back to Paxos & if we went to Paxos we would stay here again.
