We have just returned from a fortnight at the Cosmos Maris. George, Georgina and their family offered us fantastic hospitality, nothing was too much trouble and they make a real effort to get to know all the guests by name and show a genuine interest in everyone.

The rooms are huge and spotlessly clean. Although basic you have everything you need. The bathrooms are great, especially for Greece - we had a shower over a bath, there are hairdryers. You can pay locally for airconditioning (about 7 euros a day) we did this, as it got unbearably hot at night during our second week and as there are no door screens you were subject to the mosquitoes if you left the balcony door open!
We had a sea view over the buildings in front and a very large balcony. The location was peaceful, although at times the nearby Italian hotel had quite loud entertainment but other than that it was wonderfully quiet.

That said the beach was only a 10 minute walk if that and within 5 minutes were a choice of supermarkets/tourist shops, car hire and a few bars and tavernas. We preferred to walk into Lardos village to eat, which took us about 30 minutes, here you can dine in one of the lovely tavernas around the typical village square - our favourite without doubt was Roula's.

The Cosmos Maris offers an extensive bar menu all day. The food was good value for money and good quality. There is internet available in the pool bar if you need to keep in touch! George shows main sports events on the sattellite tv. There is a quiz night once a week and an alternating Greek night and karaoke night, all of which were great fun and very enjoyable. There is a games room including air hockey, darts, table football and a pool table.

We prefer the freedom and flexibility of a car rather than excursions and we spent 10 days exploring all Rhodes has to offer - would recommend in particular: Rhodes Town; Lindos; Kalithea Springs; a drive to the most southerly point and up the south west side of the island for stunning scenery and quiet unspoilt villages; the Bee museum; Butterfly valley, there is cetainly lots to see. Our daughter enjoyed our day at the waterpark which is one of the largest in Europe. Our favourite beach was Tsambika beach.
From what we were told the bus service from Lardos to Lindos and also to Rhodes Town is good.

So if you want a quiet relaxing holiday with wonderful friendly hosts you cannot go wrong with the Cosmos Maris. We will certainly be returning ......

We have just returned from a week at the cosmos and could have asked for a better holiday. We were self catering but did eat at the hotel a few times and every time the food was great. The Greek night on a Tuesday was a real laugh for all.

George and Georgina were absolutely fabulous and we didnt want for nothing even after getting in late one night and the bar was still open George went out of his way to cook us pizza. George even remembered every guests name and always had a warm welcoming smile on his face, Id recommend this hotel for all ages as there is a little something for everyone

Thankyou again George and Georgina for a fab week on a fab Island we hope to come back real soon

stayed here for afew days before going to Rhodes Town. The hotel is in a very quiet area but you do get to like it after a while. We walked to the the village but a taxi is only about one euro, lovely places to eat there and right in the middle of the Greek community. The beach is about five minute away but there were no bars or restaurants when we were here so not much to do but sunbathe. If you like a peaceful holiday away from everything with a nice hotel book here you will love it. The bus service is very good so you can get to other places easily and cheaply, we love Greece an have never had a bad holiday there.

I have just returned from a wonderful red hot week staying self catering at the Cosmos Maris just outside Lardos town.
It is owned by George and his family, who make you immediately feel welcome and nothing is to much trouble, they put British hospitality to shame, courteous, polite and" not on the make !! ".They want you to enjoy and return, which we definately will.
There apartments are basic but exceptionally clean, comprising of two hobs, fridge and hairdryer etc. There is a charge for a/c,a safe is 10 euro and 20 to keep the room on last day if needed.
The Pool area is spotless and spacious with ample beds. The Pool Bar food is as good as any of the Restaurants and good value. All football is shown on the big screen and internet access is also available.George also provides good currency exchange rates if required.
Cosmos Maris is situated on the outskirts of Lardos Town in its own little sub village comprising of three supermarkets, numerous hotels ,a car hire, a Greek restaurant and a lovely British Bar called" The Gallery Bar ", which has all Sky Sports programs and plays great back ground music..
The Beach is a ten minute walk but was in need of a tidy up, which we were told was due mid May.
Lardos Town is a 20 minute walk in one direction with Pefkos a 30 minute in the opposite direction along the main road.Lardos is the smaller of the two, a typical Greek village, loads of character where everyone is friendly ,with some very good restaurants and bars.Yamas being the best, this is owned by George's cousin. All bars and restaurant meals range from 6-10 euro for the equivelant of a good pub meal, though some meals are more expensive.Beer is 2 / 3 euro everywhere.
Pefkos is a larger more touristy place but still a very nice one.
Buses run hourly in both directions costing 1.5 euro.
The Buses also runs to Lindos and Rhodes Town costing 5 euro max and taking up to 1.1/2 hour journey time [rhodes], but both are worth a visit.
We thought long and hard about telling how good the Cosmos Maris is,thinking we should keep it to ourselves but on reflection a gem of a place needs to be visited.
We won't be going back to Spain !!! ENJOY
Helen and Leon Hodgkiss. Staffs.

We were invited to a wedding in Lindos in September, and whilst most of the party stayed in Pefkos we chose the Cosmos Maris situated between Pefkos and Lardos as it suited our budget and we have usually preferred to be a little 'off the beaten track'. Compared to our friends locations ours really was 'off the beaten track' and as it was toward the end of the season the area was rather quiet, perhaps a little too quiet even for us. However, the hotel run by George and Georgina, was a hidden treasure. Spotlessly clean, well run, good food, friendly staff, and a wonderful atmosphere. The whole of the family were polite and friendly and made us feel like one of the family. On the day of the wedding, we couldnt get a taxi for love nor money and we had started to think we would not make it to the church.before the bride.Step in George...he borrowed his sisters car, and took us both to the church in Lindos, even collecting another guest in Pefkos on the way. Well done George, you are an absolute star and saved the day for us.We met guests at the Cosmos, who return year after year after year, and its not hard to see why.
