“A charming and inviting hotel situated in the lovely Tsamadou Bay”
Reviewed June 7, 2011

This was our third holiday in Armonia Bay, however the first time in spring. We stayed in the Junior suite which was ideal for us with an extra room for our daughter and a large balcony. Again good, personal service. Elpida, Janina and John were perfect hosts! We loved breakfast, especially the fresh orange juice, Greek yogurt and cake! The swimming pool with its comfortable beds has a mesmerizing view of Tsamadou Bay. Although quite cold in May, we swam in the sea too! Springtime is excellent for hiking: it took us 2 hours from the hotel to reach the mountain village Vourliotes, where we had lunch at ‘The Blue Well’. Another 2 hours to Manolates, with nice shops, tavernas and a lovely pottery.
For us Armonia Bay is definitely the place to come back every year!

We have just returned from a week at this hotel. We have travelled quite widely on the Greek Islands and this is one of the best islands we have visited and definitely the best small boutique hotel. The standard of the Hotel could not be faulted from the excellent room with superb views, the infinity pool, the breakfast (although some tomato ketchup with the excellent scrambled eggs and bacon would be welcome!!). The hotel was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Elpida and John who jointly manage the hotel were excellent - nothing ever too much bother and full of useful knowledge about the island and recommended very good restaurants. We have already booked to go back in 2012 but for 2 weeks this time!

Despite a poor start when we arrived to find they had put us into a pokey back "garden room" because of overbooking, this was quickly rectified. We did not pay for our first night accommodation because the hotel had reneged on their contract with us for a superior sea facing room. Having moved to the better room early the following morning we were very happy with all aspects of the hotel. It is a comfortable well located hotel, near one of the nicest beaches in Samos, a 2 minute walk away through the olive groves. The pool area, breakfasts, decor and comfort of the hotel cannot be faulted. The staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke English as their first language. The hotel is near Kokkari which although a bit touristy is lovely. We hired a car the whole time ( best booked before you travel) but it is not essential. Samos itself is a beautiful island with lots of inland villages which are lovely to explore as well as many beaches although few are sandy. The water is crystal clear and sparkling. Highly recommended for a relaxing holiday but insist on sea facing room. The superior rooms were really superior.

We thank the guests for their positive review; however, we would like to comment on their first night inconvenience. Although we make every effort avoiding problems in the planning of rooms, in this case there was an overlap of one night occurred by human error. Although we had informed the guests by email several days before their arrival, they were already on vacation at another island and did not receive it. The alternative room offered for the first night was smaller, but of good quality and a pleasant view to a lemon tree garden. As compensation for their inconvenience we offered them a bottle of wine and the room for free. The guests were very happy with our resolution as concluded by their excellent review.

As you'll see from the website pictures, the location is stunning. Sitting in a secluded bay surrounded by pine and cypress trees, it like something out of a painting. Only a two minute walk through olive groves to the turquoise waters of tsamandou beach (pebbly). Hiring a car is advisable (there is pleny to see on this island- hotel staff happy to make suggestions). Alternatively for the evening take a taxi into Kokkari (about 8 euro return) which has plenty of bars and restaurants and a lively but unboistrous atmosphere. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but that did not bother us. Rooms are simple but kept spotlessly clean and most have lovely balconies. Breakfast always very fresh and of high quality. Hotel grounds and pool absolutely delightful- with the great views and infinity pool you won't want to move! What makes this place that extra special is the staff- very helpful and professional yet always very friendly and relaxed with all the guests. Many thanks to Elpidi, Janina and John for looking after us during our stay. This hotel manages to feel exclusive yet totally unpretentious and is a comlplete haven of peace and quiet.

We stayed 10 nights at Armonia Bay in July and we absolutely loved it. The hotel is in a beautiful spot, about 2km west of Kokkari, at Tsamadou Beach. Our room (nr. 11) was very clean (marble floors), large enough and had a good shower, a comfortable bed, a minibar, free wifi, flat screen TV and last-but-not-least: a beautiful view over the bay from the balcony. The beach is only a 2 minute walk down through the olive grove. Take your water shoes with you for the pebbles. The seawater is very clear. Or take a swim in the lovely pool in the garden of the hotel. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely. There is more than enough choice on the buffet with fresh fruit, home made cake, and much more. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They create a very relaxed and informal atmosphere. Kokkari is a good place to explore the island. We had a rental car during our stay. In fact, the lady form the rental company said that Armonia Bay is the best hotel on Samos. We couldn't agree more! Thank you, Elpida, Jenina and John, for a wonderful holiday!

We have just returned from an excellent week in Samos at this delightful hotel. John is an excellent host and calmly deals with stressed arrivals from England and sends them away calm and relaxed after only one week! In fact all the staff are delightful and make a huge effort to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The hotel is clean and in an attractive location. A couple of disadvantages: it is about 20 minutes walk from Kokkari and so hiring a car is desirable - but hire them from the hotel which can arrange good rates and probably better than international rental companies. Also there is no restaurant in the hotel for supper and so a trip out is essential. The nearest beachside taverna closes at dusk. Pool is great and they serve a substantial breakfast. We booked through Simpson Travel and they looked after us well. We did not want to leave after a week - or even at all really...

Recently spent 6 nights at the lovely Armonia Bay Hotel. This is a small circa 22 room hotel approx 4kms from the quaint, quaint town of Kokkari. Greeted warmly by Elpida the morning manager who could not do enough for us. Likewise John the afternoon manager. The hotel is situated on the side of a hill with fantastic ocean views. A short walk (approx 3 mins) downhill through an olive grove to gorgeous pebble beach. The beach sectioned by deckchairs and umbrellas (at a cost owned by the 3 or so restaurants that line the beach) with varying degrees of nudity. Bonus, a very nice Chinese couple offering massage at around 20euro for 20mins. The hotel style reminiscent of an Italian villa with white marble floors, light & airy, modern Greek decor with gorgeous infinity pool with plenty of deckchairs. Clientele mostly 40s/50s couples which suited us perfectly being there to celebrate our upcoming 50th..!!! A few minutes taxi journey into town was around 4euro each way, the 4 town taxi drivers, efficient and friendly..I would go back in a flash. The breakfast was also fabulous and I was somewhat surprised at how good it was. The room rate was fantastic value for money... a great hotel if you are not a fan of the big resort....!!! Pip..
