“Comfortable and Quiet”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

We stayed for two nights at one of the Homes available the DOPIA. There were two of us and we had a small house consisting of a living/dinin/kitchen room, a bedroom and a nice sized bathroom with a large courtyard. The house was fully furnished with kitchen appliances and a washing machine. There were bikes available for us. The owner Dionyssis was marvelous to deal with and gave us wonderful ideas about where to eat. There are several beaches nearby as well as plenty of restaurants. We loved Zakynthos and we felt that part of the reason was the seclusion of Logothetis Farm. I would stay here in a heartbeat if I came back to the island.

Super Holiday at Vassilikos Zakynthos Greece.
Was here end of April till 11th of May. Great time if you want some rest.
Had everything around, some good supermarkets, lovely beaches and very tasteful food at the local restaurants. All reachable within 5 minutes cycling (bike are for free provided) or 10-15 minutes walk. We drove a lot with the rental car to banana beach cause there were sun beds and umbrella;s for free and a great beachbar with superfood and nice people.
Cash machine is at argassi, 20 minutes by car, great roads to drive and for the time of year very quiet. Zakynthos city is also good attraction. Small centre with everything you want.
Spar supermarkets with more choice, but I preferred the local with all you needed.
The Red House is big enough for a family with one child. The kitchen was perfect to cook cause good cooking stuff available in the house. Tosti machine was used very much during breakfast and lunch. Sunny terrace in the morning, nice shadow during lunch and diner.
The garden is filled with chickens, give them food and they become your best friends.
Its a very big garden with lots of space to play and to relax. Your car can also be parked here.
The owners are really friendly and nice people. They help you with everything you need. Very honest. Don't forget to buy some delicious homemade wine, olive oil and fruit from them.
Lots of restaurant have enough space and playground ideal for the kids and makes it very easy to go out eating with kids. The area is very easy. Great surroundings during this time of year, everything is full in bloom.

We rented Elia House in early June 2012 and what a glorious holiday we had! Dionyssis and his brilliant team made certain that everything was just right. Elia is small but perfectly formed and exactly right for a couple. Because of the clever way the gardens of the villas have been created, we felt completely private (not that the other properties were too close anyway) and lounging about in the thoughtfully placed hammock, or on a sunlounger, or on the terrace sipping a glass of the excellent local wine or beer is a blissfully relaxing way to pass the hours when you've come on holiday to get shot of the cares of the world for a while. Every day was very hot and so being very close to the utterly lovely Gerakas Beach was particularly good. You can walk down, and we did a couple of times in the early morning, but it's a very short car journey when it's much too hot to hoof it. There's a very friendly taverna close to Gerakas; excellent for a cold beer after a long, leisurely swim in the glorious Ionian. There are plenty of very good places to eat within walking distance and there are a few little supermarkets locally, some more expensive than others, and most wanting cash rather than cards, but then that's not so surprising given the current financial climate. Even the car hire company wanted cash. (Cash machines are few are far between).

Having explored the whole island, we were definitely glad that not only had we chosen Logothetis Farm for our holiday but also the Vasilikos peninsula; in our opinion, by far and away the prettiest part of the island. Zakynthos is heavily reliant on sun, sea and sand and has very little in the way of "sights." We went there for sun, sea and sand and a good rest and that's exactly what we got with the added bonus of a really good villa owned by people who really know what they're doing in terms of holiday rentals. People who went out of their way to make sure you had a very good holiday. We sure did. Thanks Dionyssis and team and a very special mention for the fabulous cleaning ladies who were superb! Thank you!

Logothetis farm was a delight to stay in. Quiet, with houses set well apart for privacy. The bicycles provided free of charge were a boon and we used them to travel to local beaches and tavernas and even further afield to Argassi. The bikes are not brand new, but functioned ok and are eco friendly (curse those quad bikes buzzing up and down the roads). Our accommodation (Vassiliki) was detached with a garden and the garden shower could be used without fear of being overlooked.

The island which has its share of over-development. On arriving we were a disappointed at some of the more gross examples such zanteroyalpalace.com on Mavtratzi Beach. But you soon learn to pick and choose where you go to avoid these places. Zankynthos could have been paradise without the tourist boom, so there is plenty of beautiful scenery and walks to be had.

Whilst Dionyssis the owner was charming and friendly we had a couple of situations where we felt uncomfortable - the holiday came with a free transit to and from the airport. Dionyssis didn't turn up at the airport until we phoned to find out where he was, and on leaving, we again had to chase him a few times leaving messages, to find out arrange our lift back to the airport. Finally we got hold of him and a hasty phone call late in the evening before our early departure was made for a taxi. But we felt we could have been left without transport had we not pinned him down.

None of the activities on the farm were offered (we wanted to go out sailing or on a boat but the vague promise to check out something didn't come to anything). I got the impression it was either the end of a long summer for Dionyssus and we were out of season or he had more important matters to deal with.

Having said all this, I would recommend Logothetis as a eco-friendly place to stay and hope Logothetis Farm to thrives at the expense of the worst excesses of package holiday era.

i stayed in anoi house for nearly three weeks and enjoyed every single moment there. surrounded by olive trees, absolutely quiet and peaceful, with a great view from the terrace, it is the ideal place for couples of families alike. a 20 minutes stroll to the most beautiful beach where turtles nest or 5 minutes by bike.
organic fruit and vegetable is delivered on request by the very friendly nico and dionyssis does all he can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. highly recommendable.

We stayed in Vrisoula for 2 weeks in August 2012. It easily accommodated 2 adults and 3 children (13,9,5). and was spotlessly clean thanks to the efforts of the 2 cleaners/artists (Tula and Bier ?). Dionyssis made us feel very welcome and sorted out car hire, bikes incl child seats etc, and nothing seemed too much trouble. We were a bit concerned initially about the lack of a pool for the children, but having spent each morning on the beach they were quite happy to lounge around and and if they had spare energy to chase the chickens, goats etc. It was also a bit of a godsend to us as it allowed us to relax rather than following our 5 year old around a pool, and we could just sit and enjoy the view which was wonderful from the back terrace. It also had plenty of shade and a nice breeze which made it extremely pleasant. Nicos the farm manager was also brilliant and extremely friendly, taking our eldest horse riding, and giving the younger ones a 20 minute assisted ride around the fields. Anna, our 5 year old was beaming from ear to ear. Plenty of Tavernas within 10 minutes walk in both directions and eating out in some places is not much more than trying to self cater. We hired a car which does open up a few more options and saved us the hot walk back from the beach in the afternoon, when it can be very hot, so would recommend a car if you have small children. We also drove up to church on the mountain, which scared the life out of all of us, but was definitely worth it for the view. A really relaxing place to stay where you can dictate your own pace, and do as much or as little as you want. Our children said it was one of the best holidays they have had and we all look forward to returning.

We stayed in Agrili Cottage at the start of May with our two boys (aged 4 & 2yo) and had a lovely time. Dionyssis went out of his way to make our holiday relaxing, lending us beach toys, a slide and a ride-on bike for the boys to play on round the house. He met us at the airport and took us back, arranged car hire, and provided us with mountain bikes with child seats for the kids.

The house is in a lovely location, surrounded by olive trees, with plenty of space for the boys to explore (and chickens and turkeys roaming through the gardens). A hammock in the garden and sun loungers were perfect for relaxing, and we ate all our meals at the outside shaded table. The house was well equipped - great bathroom with a lovely bath! Only downside was the bed which was quite bouncy!

We went at the start of May so a lot of the Taverna's weren't open, but the plus side was that the beaches were really quiet and it wasn't too hot.

Looking forward to going back, maybe next year or the year after.
