'Have been going to Ramires for years and it rarely disappoints. The food is authentic with waiters who are very good at serving hungry customers. The best place is downstairs (where the ‘locals’ congregate). Sure, it’s been there for a long time now but since when has that been a bad thing?
Years of experience have resulted in a service that is down to earth and simple. The menu is straightforward: “piri piri or piri piri”? Excellent. Such a popular venue is bound to elicit a range of responses and much depends on the time of year when one visits. August is not for the faint hearted; but, then again, that’s true of the Algarve generally. Overall, though, to avoid disappointment, go with an open mind and an empty belly; then, prepare to enjoy the real McChicken!
Overall, Ramires delivers what it promises – tasty, authentic piri – piri at very reasonable prices. Anyone seeking 5 star service and treatment should avoid Ramires. However, if it’s good (very!), simple Portuguese piri – piri you’re after then make your way to Ramires. You will return.

Unfortunately the waiters do not like the English, and will go out of their way to make your experience as uncomfortable and difficult as possible. I speak Portuguese, and didn't let them know that I could understand what they were saying about me, my wife and two very well behaved children. It was vile!

This place leaves a nasty taste in your mouth!

It seems a lot of people are saying the same thing... stay away from this god awful place, this behaviour should have been locked away in the 70's...

Found the portions at Ramires a little more generous than their competitors and the staff a lot friendlier. Still not the bargain it used to be in years gone by but very tasty nevertheless. Always make a point of going to Guia when I visit the Algarve.

great place for a lovely piri piri chicken. Gets busy at lunch time. The food is quite basic but really tasty. They also provide a take away service if you don't fancy eating in.

We've been eating at Ramires for over a decade and always look forward to returning for the best spicy Piri Piri around. No frills, just spicy, flavourful chicken, onion and tomato salad and great fries, washed down with rough red which complements the meal. Look no further and join the locals at Ramires.
