“Swimming with the dolphins in Portugal”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

Great shows - parrots, dolphins and sea lions. Private swimming with the dolphins experience - the only place in Europe to offer this. Big wheel ride fun. Huge swimming pools. Good cafes. An excellent day out for all the family.

“Massively improved”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

This place is now great fun and very enjoyable. Good value and very well kept. The shows are now excellent, especially the Dolphin and strangely the wild birds. The sealion show still need a great deal of work to make watchable. The food is also remarkable for a theme park!

“An excellent day out!”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

My wife and attented the last day of the season - 31.10.13 - and had a swimming with the dolphins experience. Whilst the park itself is really interesting, lots of fun and certainly worth that entry price - and you really need the entire day to see and do it all as the attraction shows are simply amazing to watch - the additional cost 'Dolphin Emotions' experience was, in our opinion, SERIOUSLY overpriced.

In groups of 12, you spend approx. 30 minutes in the water around the dolphins, with roughly 10 minutes stroking 1, or if you are lucky, 2 dolphins. You then have a 30 second period where you are towed along whilst holding on to their fins. The rest of the time, you spend waiting for others to have their turn or approx another 2 minutes having your photo taken with 1. For 169 Euros, something few local residents could dream of affording, it is just way too expensive - even if you are given a 12 Euros towel and flip flops to use and have as a keep sake.

Once in a lifetime, sure! Something to remember, absolutely! Worth it cost wise, not really!

I would suggest smaller groups of 8 rather than 12, with the same amount of time to make it worth paying for. Alas, those paying to watch their friends or family taking part are kept well back from the pool and do not interact with the dolphins in any way. I suggest not buying such a ticket at all.

“Great for kids and even bigger kids!”

Extremely busy in high season - you can get great deals out of season - don't ever book through your hotel, there are numerous professional local independant tour companies that offer brilliant deals - take a picnic as food is pricey

“Impressed with the shows - the ethos - the fun - the cleanliness”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

My husband and I enjoyed all 4 shows -Dolphins the most - Seals & Sea Lions the least.
The bird shows are good and cleverly done to keep the children amused and the adults entertained & informed as well. The parrots etc are very colourful and the Eagles, Owls and Hawks are impressive, not to mention the clever crow! All the staff had great respect & rapour with animals - it was lovely to see. Liked the Shark, the rays & the fish in the aquarium as well. We didn't use the pool or the rides but they looked great fun & would be a must with kids - it is a full day out as a family - dry weather would be best.
We went on the Zoomarine bus and they alter the time you spend in the park dependant on the time of year and how full it is. We had ample time. The shop was a little disappointing but I don't know if that was because we went in mid October near the end of the season. The food was good enough - no worse value than a zoo in the uk - so yes as a family if you can take a picnic it would be a good idea. The popcorn sold before the shows kept the kids entertained while they waited.
