“Perfect stay”
Reviewed June 8, 2014 via mobile

Just back from a wonderful stay at this little gem. As the other revues say, it really is the cleanest place we have ever stayed, immaculate! The grounds, pool area and bar are all lovely. The rooms are spacious and again spotless. We had a lovely balcony with evening sun which was great. The free wifi is a big plus too. Location is perfect, just far enough out of town to be quiet but an easy stroll in. However, the best thing about this hotel is the wonderful staff. Mary and her family and staff make you feel at home from the minute you arrive and nothing is too much trouble. Really is a faultless place. Nearly everyone you meet is a repeat guest and now we are too, already booked for next year!

We have just returned home from a wonderful two week holiday and already booked for next year. This hotel exceeded all our expectations everything was perfect the cleanest and best we have ever stayed in Greece. Mary &,Costos (YA YA & PAPAUS ) and all their staff are so lovely and friendly. The location is perfect and so easy to walk into the town .Many guests return year after year now we will be doing the same .

Room Tip: rear of hotel afternoon sun great to sit on balcony to dry your hair!

I'm sat by the immaculately clean pool writing this review. There is a small pool bar that is open all day until 1.00 am. Breakfast is continental and has a good choice. The hotel rooms are a nice size and have a tv but we have not been successful in getting much on it but not a problem as haven't come to watch tv! There is also a small and very useful fridge and air con (extra charge but not needed in May). The hotel is situated about 5 mins walk from the harbour with a number of restaurants and about 10 minutes to the main street. The location is excellent as its a very peaceful area. The hotel is extremely clean and tidy and many here are repeat guests. Mary is a star and is a real character! Usually takes me a few days to relax but wound down almost immediately! Highly recommend here!

A wonderful small hotel in a great location about 5 mins walk to the beginning of the harbour. All previous reviews about the friendliness and cleanliness of the hotel are spot on and couldn't be better. We did have a little chuckle when it was windy one day and Mary was scuttling about trying to get all the leaves as they came down and any bug unfortunate enough to land in the pool was soon whipped out, bless her she works so hard as all the staff do. As for the pool, we went in August and it must be the first summer holiday that we've ever had sunbeds in plentiful supply. Note. we did hear of one year they had a massive group staying that did hog the pool but i suppose that as the clientèle were mostly 40+ couples that 'isn't the norm. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choices coupled with friendly banter, better than the normal Greek breakfast but don't expect a 5* hotel brekkie unless you want to pay a lot more for your break!
Beaches - there are so many, just walk towards the harbour to bus stop no 1 and there is a very regular bus service that has about 26 stops along the coast. Getting on at stop 1 means you'll get a seat, coming back can be a bit manic but do your research about water taxis as you can travel back on one from several beaches. The super fast taxi back from Koukinaries is particularly great fun. Also sometimes as you are waiting at the bus stop a taxi will stop and offer you a deal into town.
Airport - you may well know about the "exciting" landings & take off's from skiathos. Great fun to walk along the harbour towards the airport up to the end of the airport strip & see the goings on. Wouldn't suggest you stand too close when a plane is taking off (we hid behind the car park wall) as we did see one man blown across the road and another lose his t shirt with the jet blast, its a very hot blast too!Tuesdays and Fridays were the best days when we were there but your rep will tell you and quite a crowd will appear on busy days and sometimes even film crews filming the idiots that think they can hold on to the fence...no they can't hee hee.
Food - loads of restaurants and my hubby's favourites were the Koziakos Grill (just in back street from main harbour, cheap & you can see all diff meats on a spit and even bypass the menu and just point to what you fancy) and Aprolithos (up the main shopping street, go right just before school, right at top then its on your left - a proper restaurant & lovely setting for romantic meal)
Gluten Free? - despite absolutely loving this holiday i have to admit it was a hard place to be gluten free. I did have my card explaining in Greek what i could eat but the problem was that although they didn't like to admit it even in the posher places the food was pre-packaged/microwaved ruling out majority of the menu except the specials. In fact some restaurants stated on the menu that they are unable to change any ingredients in their meals - obviously as they are not making them from scratch. Chips rarely had dedicated fryers so were out . Also when asking for plain rice, i discovered they had cooked it in stock cubes. So it was 2 weeks of grilled meat and salad, fine but shame not to even be able to have kleftiko. I have not had this in other islands but maybe processed food is a sign of the times. There was some Gluten Free food in the supermarket on the road out of town by the petrol station but by the second week they had run out and said they weren't getting anymore in. Lucky the supermarket fruit was lovely & i took lots of GF corn cakes and nibbles with me!

Room Tip: We always ask for a high floor and had a room over the front door which was west facing. Pool facing...

Great location with the bus stop at the end of the road to get to all the beaches. 2 Euro gets you to the end of the line 30mins to bus stop 26. Or 2 mins the other way to the Harbour. Good location as you can get the bus to the beach rather than get the crowded bus into the livelier Town at night. The hotel is spotless and is very well maintained with aluminum windows to limit any noise from the Disco's in high season shut the window and turn on the air con sorted!
Mary and the girls are the life of the place and the boys are polite and friendly but keep a low profile.Ask Mary for places to eat we went to the Windmill and Agnadio on her recommendation fantastic value for money and the food WOW. An underated 2 star hotel. We dont go back to resorts but will def return at some point.

My wife and I have stayed on many Greek islands over many years and stayed in every type of accommodation from expensive to budget . Costas Mary is at the top of our list for value for money , The hotel is situated a short stroll form Skiathos town , but just far enough to be quiet at night , it is very clean , very well maintained , very friendly . Costas maintains garden , pool and generally does all the background jobs that go UN-thanked , 2 sons work in the office and bar respectively , 2 staff attend to cleaning , Mary deals with customers , i don't think Mary sleeps as she will be up when you go to bed and the first thing you see in the morning when you enter the breakfast room. Mary is a very genuine person and will go out of her way to ensure your holiday is as good as possible , she makes every guest feel very welcome . I think this hotel is underrated and could not find fault and would recommend it to everyone

We have just spent our holiday in this hotel for the first time, though we have visited Skiathos many times.
This small family run hotel is a little gem!
Lovely gardens, spotless rooms, which are very spacious and well equipped, and the hotel is a short stroll from the town, though extremely private.
The family are delightful hosts who meet your every need.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Skiathos. Excellent!!

Room Tip: Garden facing rooms are good
