There is so much wrong with this hotel that I do not know where to begin. We arrived and were told that we had to lug our cases up 2 flights of stairs just to get to reception. Then another flight of stairs for one of the couples to get to their room. The receptionist initially was very helpful and funny and then turned frosty we believe after we did not take a rental car. She told us it would cost 20 Euro to get to Kokkari by bus (which by the way is beautiful) when in actual fact it only cost 1.7 Euro for the 10 minute bus ride. The staff are polite but not very friendly. The only person that made the stay at all pleasant was Ramon (sorry if I have spelt it wrong) or Jack as we liked to call him (Jack of all trades), he was the bartender, pool cleaner, receptionist and maintenance man. The outdoor dining area was the only nice part of the hotel, it had lovely views of the town, which is a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The rooms were very basic (suitable for backpackers). We thought we had gone through a time portal and ended up back in the 70's, the rooms all had dial phones in them, the beds were hard as a rock and the bathrooms very small, with a shower curtain that sticks to you because there is not enough room to move. In the 6 nights we spent there I did not have to turn the cold tap on once when showering. We had to ask reception for a remote for the airconditioner only to find the other couple had been given the wrong remote. The walls are like tissue paper, I could hear the neighbours go to the toilet and the friends could hear their neighbour snoring. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. P.S. Don't eat the icecream, I think it was brough in the 70's.

We have just had a marvellous stay at the Ino Village Hotel. It's setting is great, not poor as some say. You are within easy walking of the main town but without the noise - a bit of a hill but who cares (it makes you fit anyway). The basic room is perfectly adequate and clean and that's all you need. The staff were always helpful and willing. It was nice to have a good variety of guests from many countries and the friendly atmosphere gave a good opportunity to get to know a mix of people - and we did.
So why only 3 blobs? Awful breakfasts I'm afraid. Everything was the cheapest quality and items were not replaced. No fresh fruit in an island abundant in fruit, very poor choice of cereal (cornflakes!). No fruit juice of any kind, just absolutely fowl squash. Almost entirely cardboard white bread with the odd brown loaf that was soon gone. Probably the worst breakfast we've ever had in a hotel and we've stayed in quite a few in Greece. I advise you take in your own fruit and healthier items - many guests did! Why does a hotel, that is otherwise excellent, not spend that little bit more on its breakfasts rather than scrimping on quality? It's such a false economy.
Would we go back? Perhaps, even with the lousy breakfasts, as we live in hope that they will see sense one day.

Room Tip: Don't bother with an expensive upgrade unless you spend your life in the bedroom - now that could also be interesting!

To be fair IF you want a hotel like the Hilton with directly quick walk to the beach or a bathroom with marmor and whirlpool, sorry but that's not what you get.
We chose this hotel via internet as it looks amazing and it is. We were aware that there was a way to the beach and town as needless to say it is laying a bit on the mountain!!!
When we arrived with Thompson travel everything was organized well and the few stairs to the reception... come on... . The complete hotel complex was tidy and lovely.
We were introduced about the cleaning every day - towels every 2 days- not on a Sunday BUT if there would be a need of a new towel just ask.
Sunbeds without a charge okay no parasols but there are enough space going in the shadow.
The team at the hotel was lovely-fantastic with lots of helpful tips if you ask nicely....
The room was what we expected in this area without taking a 5*plus hotel which means the rooms were allways clean and acceptable.
Yes the bathroom was small but regarding from all previously hotel visits in this kind of holiday islands as normal and clean as it should be.
As many we also were shown an upgrade of the room (which I heart is usual in Greece but I might be wrong) anyway we looked at both rooms went back again and again spending up to 10 minutes to decide without any pressure by the hotel crew and went back to inform we would take the booked room, and she was as friendly as before.
The bar crew all of them fantastic and it took 1 day and whenever we went in, they knew what we wanted. Great.
The lady from the breakfast was also fantastic, also after 1 day (!) she knew how we liked our coffee without going to the buffet she brought it to the table, realizing what kind of sugar I liked and what kind of milk my partner and we have never said a word.

And there are 2 different ways from the hotel to the close beach and town - one with steps the other one without, so there is no issue if you like a nice walk or taking a taxi for a few quit.

Based on the prize it was totally acceptable from our point of view and when we should ever go back to Samos we definetely will stay at this hotel.
So thanks again to the complete team of the hotel and Thompson travel.

Room Tip: ASk for a room with balcony to the pool area or to the seaview.

Like others we were not offered any help with our cases up the two flights of stairs to the reception or with cases too our room.
First impression - The area around the hotel is scruffy, close to the hospital, and residential areas.
It has a sea views due to the position at the top of the hill, but looks onto other areas that aren't that great- 15 mins walk down hill to the port, 25 mins to the main square with bars restaurants, taxi back 3.5 euros and well worth it!
UP-SELLING- Christina showed us room 803- looking out onto a solid wall- with no view of any kind we were told this was the room our tour company had booked us- it was basic, old and needed updating- we were then given keys to two more rooms at an extra 20 euros per night with a sea view-15 euros without air con. If we waited two more nights we could upgrade further for 25 euros
The room was exactly the same as 803- very basic- but with a view, we choose 301 with a good sea view. The shower's are ancient and tiny shower tray, the beds hard with thin mattress
We felt pressurized and ripped off, we thought about refusing an upgrade and contacting the tour rep for an hotel change.
The best thing about the hotel was the breakfast, and the owls calling in the night around the bay.
Tip there are better hotels down the road at Gangou beach
Restaurants-we did not eat at the hotel we thought they had received enough of our cash already
The best two restaurants we found where the Steps in Samos town- just one street back from the main road- the service and the food were excellent, and not pricey, we eat their twice.
Our favorite was Verghina in Gangou Beach- we went three times, each time excellent, and the food arrived hot-(not something most Greek restaurants can manage!)
Hercules the head(only) waiter made us very welcome, the view right in front of the beach is relaxing and beautiful. We had nine different mains, and each time delicious- the Greek food was in a class of its own.
Last tip-if you stay at Ino village- book a car-there is a bus station about 25 mins walk away, but to see the best parts of the island (the area around the hotel is not) you need a car
The best sandy beach is at Psilli Amnnos, and also Karlovassi , The harbor of Pithagorion was also interesting with nice restaurants, The old town of Mitillini was also different

I am able to say that we had a nice stay but mainly because we upgraded our room and hired a car. On arrival I was told that we had requested an upgrade which I had not. The receptionist regradless decided to show us our booked room and the upgraded one we ccould have. Our room was up many steps and as far away from the bar and pool as you could get. The room had very basis beds in and no view, it was dim and depressing. We were then toured around our new room and for and extra 25o euros we could have it, lovel big bed, beautiful views and veranda. We were there for two weeks and so I decided to pay the extra, but we felt that we'd been a little cheated by the experience even though it was a good move for us to enjoy our two weeks holiday. Our room was clean bright and spacious, but we did have to pay for this luxury. We love to walk into the night life after a hard day on the beach but this walk from the hotel into town is not a good one, poorly lit, dusty and narrow, quite dangerous really. Samos town was very average with few interesting shops or nice restaurants. There is only one nice beach in Samos town but we always managed to get a sunbed. We were also surprised to find that thingsweren't too expensive and that we could eat and drink withoutraiding the piggy bank. Once we got the car we were out touring every day and wining and dining every night in nearby villages and towns. Problem with this is drinking and driving and so it is not ideal. We would go back to Samos, but not the hotel and not the town. Everybody was extremely friendly and the weather was gorgeous.

Room Tip: Be prepared to pay the extra!
