We visited beautiful Samos island for 4 days and unfortunately stayed in Samos Bay Hotel by Gogou Beach. First of all, the breakfast is terrible. Really terrible. Secondly, there is no telephone in the room that you can call reception. There is no hair dryer in the room. You have to pick it up from the reception. The room cleanliness is normal. Finally, the beach in front of the sea is nice but sun beds are not free. They request 2€/person also from hotel guests which is not acceptable. This hotel doesn’t deserve the money they request. Never will stay there again...

This hotel was the highlight of our vacation in Samos. It is located on one of the most beatiful beaches of the island. View fron the balcony was breathtaking. The staff was very nuce and helpfull. It is very close to town center as well.

Me & my partner was looking for a cheap and cheerful week away in greece and that's exactly what we got in samos bay! The hotel is around 15 minutes from the airport, hotel is spotlessly clean, hotel room itself was basic but the view made up for it! We watched the sunset every evening from our room which was so pretty!

I personally was not a fan of the food as it was very basic. But we ate out several evenings for a change. There are lovely bars and restaurants in Samos town (20 min walk). If you would like to go further afileld there is a town called 'Pythagorio' which has a massive selection of bars and restaurants overlooking the harbour! (20 minute taxi) The hotel offers a taxi service which is a comfortable big seater.

Last but not least the beach, we LOVED the beach, a little small and shingled but the sea is crystal clear and so calm. Yes you have to pay for sunbeds but there only around 2.50 euros. There is a little beach bar with a fab waiter called Rouchan, he made our stay very enjoyable! Food & drinks are fab.

Massive thankyou to all the staff at samos bay particuarly pavlos (barman) and oli (beach guy). Would happily return :)

Room tip: Best views, great location

Having travelled to the maldives in March and spending a fortune we had a cheap summer holiday in samos bay. (It was cheaper than self catering). The hotel was very clean and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The food was nice but limited in choice. The pool was being refurbished but the beach is so near and the sea is as clear as the maldives so no problem. There are immigrants in the afternoon but they aren't allowed to the tourist part of the beach. They don't bother you at all. Ollie who looks after the beach and brings drinks etc does a great job. Car hire is very cheap and the island is beautiful so well worth a drive round.
Its not the best hotel but if you want luxury pay for the maldives. As for me I loved it here

Stayed there recently. The hotel has been upgraded recently and the room was ok. Location is not that good as very little to do nearby and the town is about a 20 minute up and down walk which can be difficult in the heat. Beach is very small and even guests have to pay for sunbeds etc which are ancient. This is despite the fact that there is no working pool - there are a couple of small pools but these are not in use. The water in the sea did not seem that clean as the end of the little beach was usually filled with locals and migrants and there were no toilet facilities for these people with obvious results.

The hotel is all inclusive and it has probably about the worst all inclusive offering you could have. That said, the 2 barmen and waitress are very nice and the rating of 2 is actually one point higher because of this than it should be. Key problem is hygiene. The chefs smoke in the kitchen, we saw a huge cockroach just outside the kitchen door, and the guy who looks after the sunbeds routinely throughout the day walks straight from the beach into the kitchen. Flies also on the food. Moreover, the food was usually lukewarm at best and the choice was poor. You even have pay for french fries.

The hotel has nil facilities and even the nice bar was never open. There was a Greek night on Friday with a couple of singers. This was the only entertainment during the week. Not wonderful and seating was scarce as the management had reserved a lot of tables for themselves which in the event were not used, despite guests having to wait for a seat - not good.

Overall, this is a very cheap hotel with little to commend it and there are better places to go to on Samos.
