We booked the Leela Goa after much research as we were looking for a relaxing two week break in Goa. The whole Leela Palace experience exceeded our expectations. We had a swift pick up from the airport, with a lovely welcome on arrival at the hotel. We have stayed at a number of similar rated hotels/resorts in various countries and have to say that this was by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in.

The standard of cleanliness, attention to detail in rooms, and throughout the resort, the exceptional service of the staff and their attentiveness is by far the best we have experienced.

We booked a standard lagoon terrace room which was outstanding and spacious with beautiful views of the lagoons.

The food in all restaurants was of high quality and the breakfast spread included a large selection of choice to cater for all needs. We would highly recommend the Riverside Restaurant serving authentic italian dishes. The Chef, Lenin and Manager, Shrikant along with their staff provided an exceptional service and prepared a bespoke meal to meet our requirements as vegetarians who do not eat fish or meat. The desserts are a MUST so do ensure you leave room for this as all food portions are generous.

Just a few minutes walk from the hotel is the Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant which also served a large variety of foods, including vegetarian options. The Pearl's Beach Shack just outside the Leela on the beach, also served excellent quality of food and value for money.

Throughout our stay we were provided with exceptionally outstanding service from ALL staff. A special thanks to the following members of the Leela Team for making our stay such a memorable one - Olivia, (Reception), Baptist (Yali Lounge), Portos (Pool Bar), Volney (Pool Bar and Yali Lounge), Salim (Towels by the pool), Shrikant, (Riverside Restaurant Manager), Lenin (Chef at Riverside), Lakshit, (The Restaurant), Nithy (Susegado Grill Manager)

Our departure time was in the early hours of the morning and we were provided with a lovely boxed breakfast pack delivered to our room which the reception informed us was already included as part of our package. This was very welcome and set us up for our long journey back to the UK.

Our stay at the Leela Goa was a truly memorable and relaxing experience and comes highly recommended. We will most certainly be returning in the future.

Room Tip: Lagoon Terrace Rooms are spacious enough for a couple with with balcony and beautiful views of the l...

Nothing short of paradise on earth, at least a little piece of it, but quite frankly I thought the property is huge! And what an amazing layout, it might as well be its own island! We too were picked up in a BMW 5 series from the airport, with garlands and coconut water upon arrival. Everything was easy breezy, and the room...well, I didn't want to leave it ! Especially the bathroom . The enormous staff is more than courteous, and they went out of their way to please us, even after minor slip ups, which there were just a few.
The ocean swim was just wonderful, as were all of our meals. Room service menu could be a bit more extensive, considering how many restaurants are on the property, but overall, 5+ stars from me!

Room Tip: Lagoon Suite Number 83 is amazing! Spacious, excellent bathrooms, and central location!

Our best holiday ever - it was heaven. There is nothing bad I can say about this hotel, the surroundings are fabulous, the rooms great, the staff are excellend and really friendly (special mentions to Aldran, Nitty and Saveo) and nothing is too much trouble. The food in all the restuarants is amazing and as it was a special occassion (anniversary and birthday) we had private dinning one evening which I can only describe as magical. We cant wait to go again.

Room Tip: Conservatory rooms are fabulous.

Plusses -- Gorgeous beach with powdery fine sand and beautiful view-- very clean in the morning when the staff had obviously raked up the debris and trash. However, through the day, dreadful examples of humanity became all too apparent with empty beverage and liquor bottles stewn about.

Food in the Susegado beach side restaurant was very good and the ambience relaxed and fun. Unfortunately, on the evening we chose to go to the Italian Restaurant - The Riverside, the staff seemed harried and did not provide the kind of graceful service one would expect from a top restaurant. And for some odd reason they selected an ersatz country western singer for ambient music! Breakfast was elaborate (a bit over much to my taste) and plentiful but often the place was completely crowded at breakfast time -- great for the hotel I suppose but not a particularly tranquil experience.

Service staff were inconsistent with the friendly and charming members having to mightily compensate for others who literally glared.

The room was beautifully appointed but a musty scent prevailed no matter whether we ran the fans, kept the screen doors open or just gave in to air conditioning.

Sadly, the main highway leading to the property is quite littered which again took away from the experience not that the hotel could do too much about that.

All in all we had a lovely, peaceful visit and very much enjoyed an impromptu tour of the greenhouses and gardens by Pauly who was very well informed. It was great to see the Cinnamon and Clove trees and the vanilla plants growing!

While crows are a necessary part of the eco-system, hoards of these creatures have invaded the grounds and have to be chased off by a security guard with an air rifle. His efforts are not in the least effective.

Extra kudos to Odina who informed us that we had left a bag (with my husband's passport!) back at the hotel and arranged to send someone there in record time so we did not miss our flight!

Room Tip: Try for a room away from the main walk way for greater privacy.

We came to Goa for a wedding 45 minutes down the coast, Cola beach (one word, stunning). We were advised of numerous hotels within an hour of the wedding. Having looked around the Leela Goa stood out.

Well we were not disappointed. The place is a paradise.

Granted the hotel is expensive, very expensive for Goa but in my opinion not expensive enough.
The lobby & entrance, unparalleled, like nothing I've seen.

Service, simply outstanding, nothing is too much. Polite, friendly, welcoming, attentive without being intrusive. I can not speak highly enough of the staff. I have stayed all over the world, hostels to 5 stars and this is without doubt the best service staff I have experienced. Service IS included on all bill but at just 7% it's not even close to fair. I have felt it necessary to tip staff additionally as I feel they have gone that extra mile.

Food and drink on site is again expensive for Goa, but this place could charge double, they don't. In my opinion very good value. A good pool side lunch and a couple of beers is about £15-£20 for two. Alternatively just yards outside Leela's private beach as a few decent beach shaks serving outstanding local food.

I could not recommend this hotel any higher, it's expensive but could charge so much more and still be great value.

Can't wait to return, I was reluctant to travel to India, as I've suffered from hemorrhagic Dengue fever in the past, something that can not be inoculated against, I have loved every minute...
