The villa is very well designed and beautifully appointed, spacious rooms with en suite bathrooms and balconys which catch the breeze. We had a great Christmas stay. The only problems we had: Internet was down for most of the time we were there, and there was very intermittant power to the outlets in all rooms but the kitchen.. down to Kenya Power and Orange, not the owners. We also felt, as an earlier reviewer, that privacy was an issue. The compound is quite small and gardener was omnipresent and made our daughters feel uncomfortable using the pool. Otherwise highly recommended.

We loved Villa Maridadi - the house itself was exactly as described. Beautiful house, just the perfect size for 3-6 people. Having a great little car to rent was an added bonus! The owner and maid were both so sweet and very helpful.
There were only two downsides to staying here.
1 - it was further from the beach than we thought by looking at the map. It's not far (only about an 8 minute walk) but from the map we thought it was located directly on the beach.
2 - the house help was a bit intrusive. At all times there was someone (maid/guard/gardener) who sat there and watched us while we were enjoying our vacation - i.e., while we were playing games on the porch, eating, doing yoga, or swimming in the pool. As Westerners, this felt very intrusive to myself and my friends.
Otherwise, it was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it!
